Magpie

Magpie is the youngest member of the Bobcat and Jay family, though the only one of her four siblings who is a Spiral. As such, she sometimes finds monotone speech and flapping frills confusing. Though like most of her family, Magpie too has abilities though hers are another blend of her mother's and fathers. Magpie is incredibly in tune with her surroundings. Through her spines she can detect changing movements in her surroundings by detecting the life signs of creatures interacting with the natural environment. Her detections are down to very minute senses, and her range is quite large though the further away she tries to detect the harder it will become to figure out what she is sensing especially in the forest full of life.

However, unlike how Hyde can sense energy signature of nearby creatures and her mother with her sight, Magpie uses the chemicals released by plants to figure out what is happening from further away. Where her father's abilities come into play is what she can do with the energy she detects. She is able to send energy signatures of different creatures to make her appear (to an enemy that detects the energy and magic like a Skydancer) larger or smaller. Additionally, Magpie can also remove her presence too, to make her invisible these types of opponents. To say the least, she would love hiding out in the woods unable to be detected by Hyde and her mother. Phoebe her older sister and her love to play hide and seek whether it is actually a game or not. Phoebe will then use her petal powers to make it appear as if she is somewhere else while Magpie tells her exactly where the rest of the family is looking.

Magpie spends much quality time with her father since she can more easily speak his language than her Fae family's. Luckily, Jay seems to find Magpie pretty easily as Jay knows that being a spiral, Magpie would rather hide in place that stimulate her mind. Often while "playing these games" Jay will end up finding Magpie after she's been bored out of her mind and knotted herself up in frustration of the other family members lack of Spiral instincts and searching skills. Magpie is also a bit scattered brained often trying to use her powers to the fullest extent of her abilities and as such processing tons of information constantly. This also relates to her researching instincts as she loves finds new plants and creatures everyday and studying them. Often her father knows to just to a patrol of her favorite areas every now and then to cover her in a blanket or bring her back home after she falls asleep midday. Since Auraboas also sleep similarly, Magpie has a tendency to fall asleep in the Auraboa designated sleeping baskets. The Auraboas don't mind, plenty of room, though they ask the smaller Magpie to indicate that she is in the basket in some way or else they might accidentally squish her due to their massively larger bodies.
