Kratos always felt a wariness of the dark side within him. The Voidsoul was an ever present thing that threatened to consume his being. He heard how his father's hubris ended up biting his tail, and he took this as a cautionary tale. It wasn't quite something he feared, but he knew he shouldn't underestimate the double-edged nature of his curse.

He took his duty of fighting the Shade and demonic entities seriously. And though he was no gaoler like his grandparents, he often carried silvered chains to use all the same. The techniques he learned from his elders were refined and adapted to his Imperial form.
