Biography

Swamp Boy

Lore points:

-the mango plumes were a gift from his mate, Akiro

-emerged from the swamps and was taken in by Gould and Grendel. He gained a liking towards anything related to birds because of them

-takes quite a bit after his mom

-very broken Common Draconic. Speaks a strange language no one understands. When asked about it, he says he learned it from his mother

-the sound of rustling feathers follows him wherever he goes

-he sometimes roams the nearby swamps, but learned to stay close to home after losing his way back to his home clan

-prefers to sit back and observe like his mother, but he does sometimes approach if a dragon is interesting enough to him. Will usually leave gifts in the form of bird skulls

-doesn't understand this "romance" stuff. It's not that he's exactly aromantic, he just straight up does not know what it is. Ended up being told by Akiro he was likely Grayromanitc at one point, though, and he took the label because it made the most sense to him

-really does not know how he ended up with Akiro. The other Skydancer caught his attention; when he first saw Akiro, he didn't know they were trans. He just thought he saw a female Skydancer dressing in clothes that seemed more typically found on males from his experience and was also being referred to with male pronouns

-that confusion lead him to following Akiro out of curiosity, which the egotistical Skydancer took as a sign of completion adoration for him, which in his words was "very typical of a dragon like you." He couldn't tell if it was disgust or just sarcasm Akiro used, but his will to follow and observe this strange dragon was unwavering

-eventually, Akiro seemed to grow annoyed, trying to shoo him off before giving up and begrudgingly letting him follow. He wasn't doing any harm, just observing, after all

-he didn't know how to ask about why Akiro seemed to act like the opposite gender without sounding too rude. He also found himself catching feelings for him, but he didn't understand what any of it meant. He wanted to learn, but was too nervous to ask. Eventually, he just left Akiro alone, only leaving behind a bird skull he had carefully coated in gold when he noticed how much the other Skydancer liked it

-he avoided Akiro for about two weeks, not sure if he could even look at the other Skydancer. He was surprised when Akiro came to check up on him, apparently worried about his unwarranted comrade. He very nervously admitted that he was confused about everything regarding him, how he was very male presenting despite being a female Skydancer

-Akiro was happy to explain, and Meadowlark was happy to finally learn why Akiro was so different to him compared to other dragons. He held no judgement for the other Skydancer. He didn't entirely care about gender or anything like that. So long as someone could feel happy and comfortable with themselves, he was fine. It wasn't hurting him after all

-he didn't follow Akiro for a while now that his curiosity was taken care of, but the other Skydancer constantly visited him at least once a week, saying it was simply a "wellness check". Something in Meadowlark told him it was a lie, especially considering the slightly nervous look on Akiro's face

-eventually, he started following Akiro again, but just because he didn't like making the other Skydancer worry

-Akiro constantly refers to Meadowlark as his boyfriend. They never really talked about it with each other, but Meadowlark didn't mind. Was this what this "romance" thing was like? He didn't really know. It just felt right letting Akiro call him his boyfriend

-Akiro comes from a rich family. Or at least, he looks like he does. Meadowlark isn't quite sure of the Skydancer's familial wealth, but he definitely has his own riches. But Meadowlark simply came from a dragon who randomly appeared from the swamp. And then he also randomly appeared at the Forgotten Kingdom from a swamp. From what he knew, his mother and father were not rich like Akiro's potentially were

-but that didn't seem to stop the other Skydancer, who seemed downright obsessed with showering Meadowlark in expensive gifts that he had no need for, but accepted anyway. Akiro constantly brings Meadowlark to the shops to buy something for him, even if it is something small. Expensive seemed to just be a word with no real meaning to the other Skydancer. Akiro was going to pamper him whether he liked it or not

-as much as Meadowlark does not care to admit it, he does enjoy the attention. He may not understand this romance stuff, but this was nice. He could live like this. And apparently, Akiro didn't mind the idea of having hatchlings, which was the only thing Meadowlark was at least pretty sure he wanted, even if they didn't stick around
