Biography
What is Marshhawk exactly?
Most dragons find themselves wondering this as they watch her wander around seemingly aimlessly, the bones that adorn her form rattling in an eerie manner. She doesn't speak much, and her language certainly isn't typical Draconian either. She emerged from the swamps of the Shadowbinder's domain and hasn't left the clan since, instead wordlessly trailing behind her clanmates as they go about their daily lives. So far, she has shown no ill will or animosity towards any of her peers, leading to her role as being the silent observer. Still, her presence is deeply unsettling for the unfortunate dragon that she latches onto for the day. Marshhawk has never been observed sleeping as well, meaning that her borderline stalker behavior could last for the entire twenty four hour cycle until she moves on to another dragon. |
The marshes from which she takes her namesake from have not always been kind to her. This is evident in the ways that she carries herself, walking slowly, almost like an undead zombie at times, and tapping the ground beneath her claws with the menacing scythe she carries around at all times. What wounds lie underneath her armor are uncertain, but there is definitely a reason for her wary behavior when traveling, as if she's experienced something deep within the territory that has left a lasting impression on her psyche. Perhaps, it is quicksand that got to her, or maybe a ferocious beast. No matter what it is, if even she is shaken by it, then it mustn't be good. Some of her clanmates have rumored her to be a reaper or harbinger of sickness of some sorts, with the dragons she visits and observes falling ill not long after. Although no one has died from their disease yet, the icy chill that permeates the atmosphere around her never ceases to make her peers shudder while in her presence. |
| The antlers that sprout from her head are natural, and so is her skeletal face—a deeply disturbing thing despite the number of zombies that the clan itself harbors. Even the stag that occasionally appears to her—which she enjoys cooing to in her strange tongue outside of the native language of Sornieth—is worthy of wariness. There's probably more spirits in that necklace of hers than anyone else realizes, as the pattern in her speech is different each time the stag appears, as if she is referring to it by different names. Sometimes, when eating she has to shoo it away when it appears, not wanting its company as she devours fallen prey. |
|
That was another weird thing about her, the way her dietary preferences didn't match up with any Skydancers. She despised vegetation, and would gladly tear into the fresh meat at meal time like the carnivorous dragons do. She even has an affinity for seafood caught in the bogs, and the bugs that flit every which way before landing on rotten stumps dotting the area. Some dragons even swear up and down that she can even unhinge her jaw like a serpent, with one claiming that they witnessed her swallowing a rat whole once. While likely, there is no evidence to confirm nor deny this statement, and Marshhawk herself doesn't look to be revealing anything about herself anytime soon. |
- She is oddly intent on collecting bones, especially those of birds or other avian creatures. |
- Oftentimes, when she leaves 'gifts' for her clanmates upon her departure, they will be wrapped in parcels of skin and bone. |
- Marshhawk greatly loves devouring duskrats! Any kind of small mammal will do, but she seems to prefer these creatures specifically. |
- Sometimes, she sheds feathers like this. Other times, she collects feathers similar to this. It's difficult to differentiate between the two. |
