Delsarin

Delsarin's mate was named first: Taiu. Since they ended up becoming a very personal version of polyamory rep for me with a name influenced by my personal history I decided to play around with a name for their mate as a "ship name" for my particular polycule. Delsarin sounded the best to us combining aspects of our various names together, and was especially entertaining to search and discover two things.

On Duckduckgo the top search result is a molecule and I immediate laughed and said "Polycule!" and was pretty sold on the name after that. Turns out the molecule though was of Delrin, a type of plastic. Googling Delsarin however lead to discovering it could be translated as "Of Sarin" in Spanish. Sarin is also a molecule, and a toxic one at that. It has been used in chemical warfare as a potent nerve agent. Sarin is also the official surname of Darth Maul - a character one of my partners happens to have an old obsession with lol.

So I don't know, we all have chemistry and through polyamory and various facets of our queerness we're symbolically making chemical (romantic) warfare on outdated "traditional marriage"?

Originally purchased and applied a silhouette scroll because I didn't really want any of the accents I saw and without an accent I liked f pose better for Delsarin. However, now that they have their name We Carrion seemed pretty thematic, looks pretty good, and adds an additional meaning via moths:

"Moths can represent change, transformation, and growth. Many cultures see moths as symbols of death and believe they bring messages from the afterlife. Others believe that moths symbolize your intuition and encourage you to trust your inner wisdom." (Source cannot be linked)

All of this is already a running theme gone into more detail in Taiu's bio essay (Delsarin's mate). So it's a nice bit of symmetry. Also we all love moths.

Also there's something to be said of the additional symbolism behind the accent's lantern, lighting the way forward.

Familiar is a nod to the fact that I bonded heavily with both of my partners through our mutual love of writing stories.

I've made myself alright with the "wasted" gems on the silhouette scroll by the symbolism behind this particular dragon representing my relationship with two other people (so two poses is more fitting).
