A spunky hatchling named Lia came across the SeaRuffle clan while enjoyably soaring on an ocean breeze, then demanded they take her in, and immediately began calling herself Liadrei, in the clan's original tradition begun by Lelei. The older dragon Volcano developed an immediate affection for her, and their age difference proved difficult for other members of the clan to accept. They decided that the Tidelord must approve, however, when Volcano's once-crackle patterning changed to smoke in reflection of Liadrei's own appearance. Despite this seeming endorsement, however, LagoonSeer determined that Volcano and Liadrei were to be kept separate until Liadrei came of mating age, that she might have the freedom and maturity to decide her fate for herself. In the meantime, Volcano learned about and courted her for her own sake. Their relationship culminated in a happy bond not long after Liadrei reached adulthood. As she has demonstrated from her first moments with the clan, she is brave, stubborn, and headstrong. When one of Leilei's offspring advocated greater ties with the Tidelord, Liadrei, determining herself blessed by Volcano's affection, renamed herself AnemoneGold, and devoutly sends many of her offspring to serve the Tidelord directly. AnemoneGold enjoys flight as much as she did when a hatchling, and has deeply studied the ins and outs of the currents that twist in the air above the Sea of a Thousand Currents, becoming so knowledgeable that she can spend hours aloft without flapping her wings. Recognizing her skillfulness in the air, Leilei subsequently asked AnemoneGold to take on the role of the clan's messenger. AnemoneGold accepted with alacrity and pride, and enjoys visiting other clans and learning about the currents of new skies. Her familiar, Russet, often accompanies her, sometimes curled in the lee of her neck, sometimes scampering across her wings mid-flight. |
