When Veracity gets upset, he loses the ability to hear anything except untruth. It’s a physical thing - or maybe magical - and deeply inconvenient. He tries to make a habit of staying calm, unruffled, but that’s easier said than done. If he gets caught in a moment of frustration, the cycle builds, a buzzing noise in his ears upsetting him more and making the whole thing worse. The only strategy that helps is treating it like a sort of game, a puzzle: if he can only hear lies, then he can piece together truth from the gaps in between. Usually, by the time he’s figured out what people are trying to say to him, the buzzing fades anyway, and he can sigh cautious relief.
