Jace and Lyre; two twin hurricanes twisting along their path together. The duo came to the Flickering Shadows clan together - seeking refuge after a tiring hunt; they initially stayed for a week and left for their next hunt with a grateful thank-you. However, a few days later, Lyre had come tearing into the Flickering Shadows clan's main camp, panting with a look of panic and terror painted on her face- apparently, their pack's leader (who was a dedicated worshiper of the Plaguebringer) had smelled the Nature dragon scent on them, and chased them out - only, Jace was too slow because of an old leg injury. The pack had attacked him, trying to tear him apart; he fought for his life, Lyre right by his side. It had been clear they were losing the battle, so Jace decided to play dead (better to lose an eye or two and gain some scars than to lose his life and put Lyre's on the line), because it was clear to Lyre what his plan was, she'd run to get help, and the Flickering Shadows clan just so happened to be the nearest one. A few of the clan's warriors went with her back to the scene of the fight; Jace and Lyre's ex-pack had apparently lost interest in Jace, and left. Jace was terribly wounded and needed immediate care; one of the dragons flew back to the camp, fetching their best healer. Though his life hung by a thread, Jace made it, though he'd been horribly scarred. They both decided to join the clan that sheltered them, and no longer go on the ritualistic hunting trips.

Jace has grown even closer to Lyre, and rarely leaves her side. He is not a very good fighter, due to all his past injuries, providing many weak points, but he is a good spotter with a fearsome bark (even if his bite doesn't quite match it, Lyre's wrath would make up for it). Jace is completely blind in one eye, since it was practically torn out in the fight; he will not let anyone walk on that side of him, with the exception of Lyre.
