Quartz was an interesting case since birth. When she had first hatched, as it was custom for overcrowded clans, she was sent out to find her fate through the channels of the Auction House. While some were destined to be sent to other lairs to become mates or to serve under another deity, Quartz was heartbroken at the thought of having to leave the Sea of a Thousand Currents and had secretly sent her prayers down to the Tidelord for a chance to return before she bid her family farewell and was corralled with all the other hatchlings. She barely got to the designated area before she was given a ticket and sent off to be collected by her new clan-mates. To her great surprise, the first dragon she met had the same blue eyes as she did - as blue and deep as the sea she hailed from.

Inspired by the fact her prayers had been answered, Quartz swore that her charge would be the Tidelord himself (no one at the time had the heart to tell her that wasn't exactly how getting a charge worked) and was determined to serve both him and her new clan in any way she could. She soon befriended two other hatchlings, Erebus and Mittens, and formed a deep bond with them through her youth, deepened more so by the fact they had all been obtain through the Auction House within a matter of days. Once they had matured, Ken had called them all to confide in them a long-held secret: he had foreseen that they were to become great and powerful warriors, and now that they had matured, it was time for them to fulfill his visions. Though the task was daunting, Quartz in particular was thrilled at the opportunity. Of course, what better way to serve the Tidelord than to destroy the Beast Clans in his lands, and to tutor his future soldiers?

Setting off through the gauntlet with her friends by her side, though the Coliseum was grueling, she and her friends had conquered it. Scales slicked with gore and hides decorated in battle scars, by the time they returned home, their full powers had been awakened. While Erebus later left to join a Plague clan Ken had formed an uneasy truce with, Mittens and Quartz have remained close to home. Though Mittens traveled the seas to assist other Water clans, Quartz stays with her adoptive clan, training young warriors and seers alike how to master their skills for the glory of the Tidelord's army.

While she is battle hardened and can come off as intimidating, Quartz values both inner and outer beauty alike, adorning herself with golden accents to cover her war scars and spending most of her time out of the Coliseum either swapping battle stories with Mittens and Sioni or helping the other seers harvest rare items for their work. Loyal, iron-willed, and gifted with an ability that can help her utterly destroy her opponents in mere moments, while Quartz's true charge isn't likely to be the Tidelord, she is more than happy to keep serving him and her clan as if he were.
