Hinata
Not long after Mizuho was born, Shoushi went out on his daily morning hunt, gathering food for the group; a self-appointed job since he claimed the others didn't do a good job in procuring quality meat; when he came across another strange egg similar in appearance to the one that Mizuho had hatched from. Having seen the egg Mizuho came from, he knew it would most likely hatch into another Nocturne. A twinge of annoyance came across Shoushi's face when he saw the egg. The last thing he wanted was another mouth to feed, much less another dragon hanging him. He put a claw on the egg, aiming to crush it and move on, but before he could apply the force to smash it, it hatched instead. Perfect... The exact opposite of what he wanted. He glared at the innocent young hatchling for a moment, when suddenly his claw began to feel rather hot. Jerking it back, he noticed the newborn had just let out a small breath of fire against his claws. A fire-breather rather changed things, something he didn't expect given the hactchling's large, Wind eyes. Images of destruction and chaos flickered before Shoushi's eyes giving him a change of heart as he imagined all the damage fire-breathers could bring, especially under his care. He scooped up the newborn and carried her home, deciding upon the name Hinata for her, inspired by the fire within her. Hinata ultimately befriended Mizuho, the two playing together as hatchlings and growing together almost like sisters. She took on a more gentler nature than what Shoushi had initially hoped, being rather friendly but still having a wild and playful side. Though she didn't anger often, when she did she had a powerful temper. The elder dragon surmised this was likely higher powers that be acting simply to spite him. When Higure sent Mizuho on to explore the Windswept Plateau and Sea of a Thousand Currents, Hinata asked Shoushi why she couldn't go as well; to which he replied that despite her Wind eyes, there was a fire inside her like none he'd seen before, claiming her eyes didn't tell where her home was, it was that fire in her heart which she didn't need any spiritual journey to find. Having been brought up by Shoushi primarily, she became the only one other than himself that he could trust with the duty of hunting for food. |
