 Skitter was found and hatched by Malachi and Shinu. Though they don't consider themselves a mated pair, they are now most definitely the adoptive parents of a very large, very leggy Auraboa.

Malachi initially didn't want anything to do with any hatchlings, as he was terrified that they would end up Shade-touched as he is, but Shinu pointed out the unlikelihood that he would pass that taint onto the unhatched Auraboa egg simply by proximity. Malachi wasn't so sure, but Shinu had other reasons for wanting to keep the egg.

The fact was, in Bloodbane's clan it was very much 'survival of the fittest', and being a tiny Fae made her an easy target for the larger dragons. She was looking for insurance, and when she and Malachi discovered the Auraboa egg, she knew she had found it. She needed help raising (and feeding) such a large hatchling, especially it's diet was so different from her own, and so she convinced Malachi to co-parent with her. The Tundra was reluctant to say the least, but he finally agreed.

Skitter was named aptly for the sound he made as a hatchling running helter-skelter around the den. Since he is now almost 17m long he has learned to reign in his enthusiasm a bit, but he is still quite the handful for Malachi and Shinu, both of whom he dwarfs by a large margin.
