By heterochromia 		An intelligent and calm guardian who stumbled across Wafer and his group one fateful day, with his charge Miri in tow.

Oslowe heard their story and decided to stay with the group rather than turn them in or simply leave - much to Miri's fury - and soon grew close with many of the dragons there.
Wafer, in particular.

He became one of Wafer's closest friends and trusted confidantes, and later still, his lover.
But it came to light he was stalling, and in his own way, a fugitive.

Tide's End, from which Oslowe and Miri had originated, was no more.

It had been massacred by maren - a fact both he and Miri did know, as they were sole survivors. But what Miri was not aware of, was that Oslowe had traded her life for her father's; giving the seafolk his location far from their home in exchange for them allowing him to leave with her alive and intact.

All that time, Miri still thought her father was alive, and was desperate to leave and find the last shred of family she had left.

Their relationship never recovered once she learned of his manipulation, but regardless, when the clan finally fell to pieces, both Oslowe and Miri chose to remain alongside Wafer, and thus stayed with each other as well.
