In the very beginning, he was a caretaker.
Shy, fearful, and awkward around other dragons, but kind and caring to every familiar.
He worked for Amberspire, and was well respected in its community.

But he was also... sentimental, and curious, and weak in the worst ways.
He grew close to someone he should not have - a priestess - and saw her in secret, eventually resulting in eggs and the accusation he had taken advantage of her naivete.
And the charges only grew worse from there.
He fled, becoming a fugitive and hiding in the southern shores of the Arcane Isles.

However, in spite of his best efforts to stay hidden and away from the rest of dragonkind, he had an uncanny skill for stumbling across unhatched eggs and other dragons in need, and soon found himself at the head of his own minuscule clan.

They wished to fight for his freedom, and so he trained with them, growing more fearful by the day.
