Biography
Bastaphut – well, Bast and Aphut, but the heads were always in agreement – sought power.
Nessamy was aware of that. It was why she had instructed Nihilomen to watch Bastaphut's every move. She clearly envied his position as the clan's second-in-command; he needed to stay as sharp as the Aberration's claws.
But Bastaphut’s scheming and experience were also why Nessamy needed her. She needed an enforcer to do the dirty work, to protect the clan even as the clan learned to protect itself from threats like her. Bastaphut was a necessary thorn in the side of Emperor's Elegy, one that would grow a tough callous.
And yet, despite all this, Nessamy hoped that Bastaphut would eventually soften and join clan life. Maybe someday she would admire the art that lined their tunnels; maybe she'd relent and sleep in a tangled heap with the others. Maybe she would stop eyeing the Veilspun like tempting snacks. Nessamy had heard the rumors: that Bastaphut was always hungry, that she had left a trail of gnawed dragon bones in her wake as she rampaged across Sornieth...
But if the rumors were true – if Bastaphut did try to eat someone, or attack her leaders – one of the larger dragons could always step on her. That was the usual backup plan.
Honestly, Nessamy had bigger things to worry about than a bloodthirsty cannibal. When properly wielded, a dagger was only dangerous to one's enemies.
Pronouns: she/her
Sexuality: complicated; probably abrosexual but she doesn't really care
Personality: cruel, antisocial, ambitious; stands eerily still, like a coiled serpent
