Ivy is a dracopologist, a branch of social sciences revolving around the study of dragons and the way they live in groups. Ivy has travelled all across Sornieth to study all sorts of clans — some more knowledgeable about her research than others. While Ivy usually asks the permission of the clan she’s studying, sometimes they say no, and well, Ivy just chooses to take matters into her own hands, and watches them from a close but hidden distance. And sometimes, they say yes, but don’t realize that Ivy is planning to publish her findings.

Ivy’s published findings have become bestselling books, and the dragons she’s studied never see a cent of it. As mentioned, many of them never even realized they were being studied, or that her studies would be published. Many of the dragons in question even thought they could trust Ivy, and poured out their own personal secrets, or secrets of the clan, to her, and were aghast to see those same secrets on a bookshelf.

Luckily, the way Ivy treats other dragons like research subjects has become a hot topic, and news spreads fast in Sornieth. Now, Ivy is having trouble finding consenting research subjects, and has been hiding in the bushes more than ever. Even then, many clans have been sending out patrols for the sole purpose of keeping her out and evicting her from their territory.

Ivy’s latest solution has been to find hyper-isolated clans and dragons, such as Pricot and Papaya on their deserted island, where they won’t have met with other dragons to have heard about her scheming ways. But even that won’t last forever — it seems there are many dragons who hold a particular grudge against her, going out of their ways to follow her, track her down, and warn her unwilling research subjects about her.

Ivy’s nosiness and curiosity has made herself many enemies. But it has also made her wealthy, and her book sales continue to fund her future expeditions into other clans that she will continue to exploit until the end of her days.
