Starbound > Arashi
The first generation, the immediate children of Starbound are the most affected when they leave the land, in the Arcane territories they still have some measure of power, but the farther away from their homeland they go, more of their magic is stripped, to the point of weakening their bodies and dulling the color of their eyes to a murky, lifeless awash pink. Some find other creative ways to survive this terrible fate, magical stones, mechanical or magical enhancements, forbidden spells that suck out the magic of others, you name it. One thing is certain tough, despite the curse they carry, these children are above all, survivors.
The longing for their home is an ever-present beast tough, that no matter what they do sit still in the back of their mind like a parasite, it's a deep ache that can only be cured finding their way back to their homeland (some counter it by making regular visits back to the Fallen Stars clan, others, embittered, resist).

Arashi Arashi knew he was welcome there, this clan despite so far from home was familiar, there were family here, not of his blood, no, but others from his hometown that he considered just as much as his own blood. Sometimes he wondered why he decided to leave when he loved Patera so, so much, when he was content with the life he had there with his parents and siblings, regardless of how suffocating the magic sometimes felt when he started to think about leaving... He just- he was curious, he wanted to see the world... He knew he didn't need permission, but he asked his father nonetheless, and Starbound, as always when one of his family decided to leave seemed infinitely sad, but didn't stop him. He gave him a pendant instead, something powerful imbued with his own heavy and almost suffocating magic, at first Arashi was startled with how choking it felt wearing it, but the farther away from his home he went, the more bearable it became. The only problem seemed that he couldn't take it anymore, he tried, once, but immediately felt as if he was dying, his magic trying to leak out of his body like an open wound and he almost fainted with how strong was the reaction, he didn't understand, was this a punishment? But his dad and sire wouldn't let his father do something like that and he knew Starbound, the love for his children was something known and fierce, just because he wanted to leave, Arashi didn't believe he would do something like that, but what was the other explanation? He, he didn't knew, but he was going to find out... Eventually, for now he would simply never take the pendant away, not even to bath and explored, met new people and old friends he only knew by correspondence, he... lived, finally... One day he would go back, he knew it, Patera was his home and heart, but for now he had many things yet to discover. |
