Sitting atop a the ruins of a once mighty fortress, this giant Imperial peers into the future. Two miniature suns replace her eyes and blind all those who dare to gaze into them for too long. When she speaks... Oh, her voice is everywhere and nowhere at once. Although sightless in this world, Varda can see things that are, that were and those that might come to pass. No one exactly knows where she came from or how old she is, not even Varda herself. The dragons of Emperor's End found her sleeping form in the ruins of the Hewn City. Their hushed voices, however quiet they might have been, woke the Imperial. She looked around but it was clear she couldn't actually see any of the dragons. "You, brave company, have come a long way," Varda said with a voice as soft and quiet as a hunting fox and yet as loud as thunder roaring in the distance. "The stars have told me, you would arrive eventually, Chastain and Kida." The couple exchanged a confused look, but before either of them could say something, Varda spoke again. "Oh, I know many things," she continued. "Star and moon and sun... They all share their knowledge with me. Sometimes even the Eleven speak to me, although they have been quiet for some time now." She told the rag-tag group about the messages the gods had sent her. The Lightweaver herself had told Varda about the arrival of a sickly Mirror and an ancient Guardian, two dragons with an immense task ahead. Taken aback by the prophecy, Chastain stepped forward and asked Varda to join the clan. Her powers could prove to be a great asset in the war on Luminax. In return she would be offered food and company. The Imperial smiled. "Just as she has expected." Accompanied by the patrol, Varda moved to Emperor's End where she now rests atop the highest ruin and receives messages from the deities. |
