Wake Up, Train, Study, Sleep, Repeat Raised in an aggressive and headstrong military-oriented family, Rattlebones never got the chance to play or explore any hobbies as a hatchling. Her family would train together, as a unit, almost daily, and when they weren't training, they were studying the battle tactics of other dragons. There was no concept of 'free time'. Once the family grew in numbers, however, Rattlebones and a few of her siblings were selected to leave the clan and spread their numbers elsewhere. Her wanderings brought her to the Deepwell clan and, seeing that they had no army, brought it upon herself to raise one of her own, with Mindfog and Greenfew's approval. While she now has more free time than in her youth, she still chooses to spend most of it training new recruits for the clan. None of her recruits dare admit it to her face, but all of them know of her extreme temper. Her training tactics, the same as her parents', involves constant yelling, snapping and kicking in the face of non-obedience. She's actually quite softer than her parents and elders were in her past, but harsh is harsh in the eyes of the poor Wellguards who train beneath her. Though her methods are unorthodox, they are highly effective and prepare the forces against threats of all shapes and sizes, theoretically even for foes as large as Luminax. Beneath the terrifying facade, she has true pride in all of her recruits for even getting through her training. She longs deeply for a friend that she knows may never come until she learns kindness in spite of her upbringing. She'll refuse to admit it, but when a hungry, cold and rain-soaked Tiger Foo kit snuck into her den for warmth, a little hole melted into her hardened military heart and she chose to let it stay instead of killing and/or eating it. Furthermore, she is highly defensive of her swift-footed shadow and will mangle the carotids of anyone who lays a claw on him (though she refuses to admit to caring about him, too). She trained him rigorously at youth as soon as he was in good health so that he would be able to come with her on Wellguard missions with little worry of him getting hurt, equipping him with armor, sharpened metal claws and a long blade to wield. The Foo can certainly hold his own, moving faster than most dragons and striking more true than most arrows. Voice claim: n/a |
