Malchor was hatched to a traveling healer and a blacksmith exile, spending his early life residing in both his home lair and the city of Waterdeep. At home, he learned how to craft weapons of all kinds and practiced fire magic. In Waterdeep, he met his best friend for life, a Skydancer hatched on the same day as himself with the same special ability the rest of their kind lacked -- self-immolation that leaves the user unscathed. Warriors of Waterdeep taught him combat, magic and advanced flight maneuvers, and also about the culture and world he came from.

Malchor believes that his most impressive talent is a unique application of enchantment magic that embues his immolation's fire onto any weapon he touches. That fire takes on the magical properties of Malchor's immolation, burning enemies but not allies, and being less weak to water than regular flame. Flaming arrows, swords, and shields were some of the most fun to wield, in Malchor's opinion. After using immolation on his full body, or expending a dangerous amount of energy, Malchor enters his lava stone form. His body takes on the texture and scent of lava rock. While normally very thick skinned, his skin is brittle and easily damaged in this form. It will take a few hours for the holes to fill in, and for the regular metallic shine to return to his hide.
