xxxxxxxxxxxxxessence of life | hearth-fire When the moon was but the barest sliver in the sky, a gaoler with coat black as night emerged from shadows deep in the Tangled Wood. Small, pearly flowers blossomed on his coat as he took in the sights of the Waking Plane. Moontouch... The name echoed within. His name. Go... they need... guide them... Despite having only been in this flesh for a few moments, Moontouch felt a pull deep within. He knew he was here to care for the dead, but there was more to it than that. He had to travel south, to the biting cold he knew would be waiting for him. On this journey, he left many flowers and met many dragons willing to teach him the ways of the Waking Plane once they understood he was not of Sorneith. One of these figures was a gaoler, like himself, but this one was different. She held a power within her that Moontouch had not felt from any other creature he met on his travels. It would have been unsettling if he was not intimately familiar with the machinations of death and its many forms. Jasna, the mysterious gaoler's name, felt a similar pull towards him and led him back to her clan where he soon found his place among the spirits that lived deep within the ancient glacial ice. Jasna confided in Moontouch about her condition and he soon realized that she was part of his mission. Together, they formed a formidable pair. Now, he is constantly researching and communing with the spirits in attempts to assist his now lover with the torment within her. When he's not studying, he's either out in the fields with Jasna and her squadron assisting medically as they hunt Shade or roaming the Icefield in search of lost souls needing guidance. | xxxxxxxxxx |
