Uh-oh, looks like this gemstone collector wandered a little too far from his home lair, and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. ____Agate was named for his mother's love of gemstones, as well as in honor of his father's stone themed name. His father, Moonstone, was a traveler staying in the clan, seeking to have his hands restored after having them turned to gold. He left soon after Agate hatched.
Agate grew up happy in the clan, but he found himself disinterested in researching magic. Instead, he was infatuated with the different glistening stones in his mother's collection, and instead decided to set out on a quest to collect as many as he could! His mother started his collection by giving him some of the stone he was named after.

____Agate mentioned that he was looking for some stones when he came to Crow Callers. He decided to go digging with Hijr and Boon one day, and they helped him find some Eye Agate, which were quite plentiful in the area.
He learned that Eye Agate helps one promote acceptance, recognize one's self-value, and lower one's hesitation - all important values to Crow Callers. He took a few of the stones and continued on his way.

____ The crossing from the shadow lands to the Windsinger domain is difficult, the winds separating the the two territories exceptionally strong, making his journey near impossible and when he finally makes it past the border he finds...nothing.
At least at first, as he wanders around aimlessly he stumbles upon a small strange looking cottage situated at the edge of a cliff. The owner, a bright blue coatl, is as peculiar as her home, but she's nice enough and welcomes him in, asking him strange questions about strange magic and even stranger encounters. He doesn't know how to answer her and she seems disappointed. He stays for a few days and when before he leaves, the coatl -whose name he has since learned is Alice- gives him a small piece of Malachite Agate, for protection, he takes it gladly, adding it to his slowly growing collection, happy that his trip wasn't in vain.

____ The cottage provided some respite, but Agate was not ready to go too far yet. Instead, he headed east through the grassy plains. For a while he didn't see much, and it was easy to let his mind wander. He thought back to how his collection started and tried imagining what other stones he could find. He got so carried away, in fact, that he didn't notice a shimmering gold dragon who joined the same wind stream. She was eyeing him for quite a while, before calling out and startling him out of his daze. No matter how hard Agate tried to convince her that he was just lost in thought, she whisked him away to a local inn, convinced that he was too tired to fly.
Agate didn't really plan to make a rest stop so early into his journey, but what a great place it was! The inn was spacious and well-decorated, and the dragons? Most of them had some type of jewellery on them! They braided it into their manes, wore it on their paws and wings. The innkeeper, whom he briefly saw at his check-in was wearing an intricate set that covered almost her entire body in gold tangles and aventurine. Oh boy, was he going to have fun here.
He spent the next day in its entirety exploting the shops that huddled around the inn. It was there that he met Alba, the local jeweller. At first she was a little suspicious of a newcomer poking around her shop. He looked at the pieces a little too intently, and it didn't look like he was planning to buy anything. It was only when he started asking her very specific questions that she recognised a fellow lover of gemstones in him. She asked him to visit her after hours, so that they could talk for longer, without any distractions. And so, a legendary friendship was born.
In the end, Agate stuck around for quite a while, learning about stonecutting from Alba and meeting other tonwsdragons. He was impressed with local crafts, but when his new friend offered to make him a customary protective amulet with a Foo's Eye he still settled just for the polished stone. He promised Alba he would treasure it and come around some other time to show her all of the new cool stones he would inevitably gather.
