As Akami's new clan grew, it didn't take long for dragons to start spreading rumours about a cavern that was found at the very back of the lair, where light seemed to refuse to shine. Within the inky, all consuming darkness, something ancient and powerful stirred. No one dared enter the darkness. It was as if they could sense some kind of bewitched foreboding about it. Akami herself would not trespass into the domain of whatever may lurk in the shadows, and although it seemed she had some idea what might be in there she didn't say anything to anyone else about it.

One day, unannounced, this unknowable being awoke. A massive quantity of the clan's food reserves were rapidly taken into the dark by something unseen, and the beast fed and regained its strength.

Thunderous growls occasionally echo from the darkness, feeding the clan's rumours and legends. They speak of a dragon bigger and more powerful than any other, even rivaling Seriglass and Akami herself in size and strength, a behemoth with an insatiable hunger and a breath weapon that could turn even the toughest dragons to ash.

Unbeknownst to the clan, though, Akami, Seriglass and Omen have met this mysterious slumbering dragon since she awoke. None of them speak of her, only because the mystery surrounding her is strategically advantageous. If no one knows what's in there, no one can strategise against her should the need arise to call her into battle. Raerlath, as she's introduced herself, is far from the titan the rumours say she is. She's only a little bigger than Omen in reality, but she is capable of matching Seriglass in strength, and is easily the fastest dragon in the entire clan when she wants to be. Aside from her size, the other major difference between her and the rumours is that she doesn't actually have a breath weapon of her own, but no one really needs to know that.

She is without a doubt the most dangerous dragon in Akami's ranks, but she's also got a soft side. She's been asleep for hundreds of years, and things have changed a lot in the world since the start of her slumber, so she finds comfort in reading a mix of modern and ancient books to remind her of ages past and acquaint herself with the new world. She keeps a growing collection of books in the dark of her cavern, unbeknownst to the rest of the clan, as her own personal hoard. She also enjoys iced tea.
