Omen

Omen was one of the first feral dragons to join Akami's clan of his own volition. Despite his self-defined gloomy, deathly appearance, he specialises in blinding light magic and serves as the Matriarchy's
dedicated healer in battle. He sees himself as a purifying force, using his magics to cleanse and purify ill from the world.

He has an unusual obsession with death and decay, and the other dragons of the clan find it difficult to talk to him casually because he always has something morbid or zealous to say. Nevertheless Akami recognises the necessity of his unique role in the clan and respects his loyalty to the cause.

Omen's relationships with the other dragons in his clan is one of begrudging respect most of the time. He finds Seriglass fascinating, and since Akami has ordered him to prioritise healing Seriglass over himself more often than not, he's starting to consider her the most valuable dragon in their entire clan, perhaps even rivaling Akami herself in importance. Monolith, on the other end of the spectrum, may as well walk headlong into the forbidden portal.

Over time, many of the feral dragons that have joined Akami's ranks, and even more so the hatchlings born within the Spire, have started displaying a peculiar sickness which Omen has been tasked with treating. In most cases the sickness is stubborn but manageable, and it doesn't take more than a few weeks of dedicated care to cure each ailed dragon. However... with each dragon cured, Omen himself could feel a certain illness creeping deeper into his being. At first this inexplicable disease didn't affect Omen's body so much as his soul, tainting his thoughts and having some kind of effect on his magical abilities. But lately, it's even begun manifesting physical changes within him - dark feathers sprouting from his wings, and among them, what appear to be eyes. Omen hides these deformities beneath his wing drapes, but they continue to grow as he does everything he can for the other ailing dragons of the clan.
