Lucerinn came to Akami's clan as a youngster, but even then she showed an incredible aptitude for the art of alchemy, something no one else in the clan could lay claim to. She wasn't especially skilled, but she was gifted with limitless curiosity and the ability to learn incredibly fast, and a passion for the art that pulled it all together.

Akami wanted to turn Lucy away when she first arrived. Her slight body and childish mind did little to convince the matriarch of her worth. Once again it took Seriglass' perspective to effectively override Akami's narrow mindedness, and she welcomed Lucy into the fold, knowing she would become a great alchemist one day.

She learns a little more every day, although her corner of the lair constantly stinks of burnt reagents and is littered with bits and pieces that may or may not be useful to her pursuits. every now and then, something incredible "accidentally" emerges from her cauldron, things she can't quite replicate intentionally, but she never stops trying anyway. Thankfully nothing that moves on its own seems to have been produced yet.
