bio.
   before they were apart, they were one: a small spark roaming the endless black void of the cosmos. brought into being by a council of starlings, one became two. one became surya, the younger twin. after the deposition of ceres, it becomes the twins' responsibility to illuminate the planet. it is a monumental task, but as the first celestials in the history of creation, their power could almost rival a starling's.

   together surya and savitr draw the sun across the skies. surya takes control of the light from its midday peak until twilight, where they then pass it off to their twin. day after day, the twins carry the sun around the planet, only ever seeing one another for a brief moment during an interchange of responsibility, before they are forced apart once again.
