quote.
⊹⊱ "the moon is queen of everything. she rules the oceans, rivers, rain. when I am asked whose tears these are; i always blame the moon."

bio.
following the departure of the ancient gods to their eternal sleep, a self-elected council of starlings took responsibility over the war-ravaged husk of a planet left behind. one of these starlings was ceres, who personally nurtured the land. from her sympathetic tears came the first oceans and from her starlight skin reflected the first warm light. the first primitive dragonfolk were birthed from her oceans and worshipped her alone, singing their loyalty and praises to who they called the illuminating mother. driven by jealousy, the rest of the council drew their powers together to create the first celestials: the sunrise & the sunset.

with the planet now bathed in a brighter, warmer light than that which ceres could provide, the primitive dragonfolk began to forget her. the hymns sung in her favor quieted, the shrines constructed in her honor collapsed, and where before mortal dragons celebrated her night with festivals, they now hid, afraid of her starry skies. irrevocably heartbroken that her beloved creatures loved her no more, ceres began to weep endlessly. she cried so much her clear oceans flooded to abyss-like proportions and colossal waves threatened to submerge the land. unable to alleviate her sadness and terrified that her emotions would continue to cause damage to her beloved planet, ceres decided to follow in the path of the ancient gods and sleep.

in the cradle of her very own starry night ceres curled into herself to sleep, and as she did, star fragments from the cosmos began to orbit her body, drawn in by her starlight skin. millions upon millions of fragments coalesced around her until eventually only a golden orb remained -- the moon.
