| xx | In the beginning, there was an absence. Then The One split into three, and Ya breathed life into dragonkind. Unlike Ko and Ri’s numerous helpers, Ya created only two—the twins, Vitya and Obitus. Vitya was tasked with carrying on Ya’s works in bringing life to creatures beyond dragonkind. Mostly, that involved working with Ri’s helpers by breathing life into their new creations. Oftentimes, she would receive prayers from mortal dragons to aid in their attempts to create hatchlings or to help sick and dying dragons. Rarely, she would dabble in trying to make her own species, though most of those attempts never saw the light of day in her frustration and embarrassment to create something viable on her own. |
| xx | When Taji ascended to the heavens and the new age began, Vitya and her fellow helpers came to be known as the Old Gods. Several expressed their distaste for this change, and sought Vitya’s opinion. Though reserved and detached from the heavens as a whole, she was well-respected. Her answer was that she didn’t care who inhabited the heavens, so long as balance remained and she could do her job without interference. Soon after, the unhappy Old Gods disappeared in search of Ko, Ri, and Ya, but Vitya did not follow. She and Obitus remained with a handful of the other Old Gods, continuing on in their tasks assigned to them by Ya. In keeping to herself for the most part, Vitya almost didn’t even notice the change to the heavens as more mortal dragons began to ascend to godhood, and once she did she barely batted an eyelash. |

Rather quiet and reserved, it can be hard for anyone to get a good read on Vitya, even those who are among the Old Gods themselves. Of anyone, Obitus is the best at knowing what is going on inside her head. They were sung into being from the same thought, after all, and no one knows a twin better than the other half of the set. Vitya doesn’t have any whom she would consider a friend, and while most other gods avoid her to some degree—due to either her cold, bright aura or her blunt, uncaring nature—her opinion is still highly valued among even the new gods. Sometimes she is sought out to settle disputes that don’t need to be taken to the Highest Council of the Gods’ Realm, or even just to get an outside opinion. While she values her solitude and privacy, she doesn’t (usually) mind helping those who come to her for aid. |
