Thank you Mima for this mans. I spent 11 hours writing startup lore for this idiot fang-faced vampire and his (equally idiot) baby-faced boyfriend. Honestly though, the characters these two are based on needed a BIG reboot and now they are redesigned and are an item. Love wins :D

Half a couple of OCs who fight demons. This one's a vampire who likes throwing hands and being indulgent. His boyfriend is a priest who is in training to become an exorcist (and becomes one during the story). He doesn't suffer from gay panik but does suffer from chronic photosensitivity. HOWEVER, he has a cool hat and a cool umbrella to make up for it. And a cute little juice box on his arm.

Desmond went to Ambrose to make a deal, not vice versa. Blood was exchanged for information and protection. Now it's super gay because they combined their half-brain cells into a singular brain cell and realised they both caught Major FeelsTM. Who uses the brain cell the most? Desmond probably.

AMBROSE Blasphemous! The Vampire (OC)

BASIC INFO: NAME: Ambrose MONIKER: 'Death Carries a Black Umbrella' SPECIES: Vampire GENDER: Male ORIENTATION: Bisexual AGE: Unknown HAIR COLOUR: Light-Blonde, almost shoulder length & a bit scruffy EYE COLOUR: Red APPEARANCE: Ambrose is 6ft 4 with a medium build. He has a darker complexion than Desmond and is covered in scars, one in particular runs across the bridge of his nose. His eyes are red and he's got stubble. Ambrose's teeth and ears are slightly pointed, but the fangs are especially sharp. His hair is light-blonde, kinda scruffy and almost shoulder length. He’s often seen sporting a tan coloured, wide brimmed hat, a trench coat and many clothing layers (in various shades of tan/white/red/black), carrying a black umbrella. Sometimes he has gloves and sunglasses. When in a more 'feral' mood, his face scrunches into a snarl, fangs on full display. His pupils shrink into slits and his voice deepens. He also leans forward slightly more than usual and his fingernails become claws. PERSONALITY: As a vampire, Ambrose delights in being indulgent whenever he can, enjoying the night life and everything it holds. He loves the thrill of the hunt, whether that's charming people for a quick drink or ripping heads off after a long fight/chase. Even so, he adheres to the Truce amongst Monsterkind - production of human based foodstuffs is humanely sourced (via agreements) or completely replaced. A free spirit and the only vampire in the village, Ambrose prefers to act solo or hang around other monsters (like his good friend Loupin) rather than leave to join a coven. Allegedly, his sensibilities don’t align with the snooty and collective proclivity they tend to have. He takes the time to enjoy 'life' and keep himself busy, since (in his opinion) he has millennia to grow old, uptight and bored. He tells it like it is, regardless of offence. Ambrose's passions bubble very close to the surface, switching from fun-loving and a little eccentric to grumpy or aggressive if he feels particularly threatened. The increasing Demonic influence over the human community (and their bureaucratic, elitist need to treat other monsters like dirt) has left him bitter and angry. As such, he takes very opportunity to get back at them he can, including agreeing to a deal with a human. Desmond is fun to irritate, very easy to fluster, and Ambrose isn't scared to call him out when he's being a hypocritical prude. However, the priest has very strong convictions and doesn't shy away from deadly situations, something Ambrose finds very respectable (and hot). He’s grown quite fond of the guy really. Desmond’s got a cute smile and he deserves to have a life outside the Church. ABILITIES: - Monster Underworld Knowledge - Superhuman speed, strength and reflexes - Heightened Senses (especially smell) - Immortality, Night Vision, Heal Factor - Retractable fangs and clotting spit - 'Charm': Latent thrall effects on people* When drinking Desmond's blood - Handle holy items + cross onto sacred ground** (Temporary- goes away if stops feeding) TRIVIA: - Ambrose became a vampire roughly at the turn of the century (Early 1900s), though he didn’t like coven life. When the Truce meant that his coven was to be forced out of the area, Ambrose refused to join his master, leading to his semi-self-enforced excommunication. This is why there’s hardly any vamps around. - His freedom was earned through the help of his friend Loupin, a werewolf. Loupin’s family had basically adopted Ambrose for a long time by this point, and he was with Loupin when she met Reynard. When they settled down to take over the family business after Loupin’s parents retired, he was a regular at their pub, 'The Crescent Moon', until just before he met Desmond. - His sexuality is a homage to a common trope of Vampires being considered inherently bi. - The above is also true about them being a little bit ExtraTM. - Ambrose’s favourite Capri Sun flavour is Desmond Blackcurrant :) - To become a vampire, one must be drained to the point of death + fed vampire blood. - Vampires need to be invited into a dwelling, but only once per building. - Vampires are HIGHLY sensitive to sunlight, turning to ash if they're exposed for too long. - Vampires can eat and drink. It prevents their organs from atrophying, but they need blood to survive. As such they have rudimentary digestive and circulatory systems (thus very slow heartbeats). - Their weaknesses impede the speed of their healing factor. Too much and they just die. - *It's harder for them to thrall people of the cloth (holy people), but it can happen. - **Vampires are not allergic to garlic, but holy things (and thus holy people) can harm them. The ONLY reason Ambrose isn't dying every time he drinks Desmond's blood is because he has Desmond's consent. This is a very important thing in this realm. - **Should one with 'holy blood' fall out of favour with their faith or damage their ‘immortal soul’, their blood stops being holy. Any previous properties granted will not work.
