An indomitable addition to Clan Sunsharp’s ranks, Ilrai is seemingly immune to the oppressive environment meant to break its acolytes. She survived basic training, dominance drills, and the Vanguard trials with her head held high and a smile on her face. Ilrai is dauntless and enthusiastic, proficient and versatile with her trident, and she relishes a challenge both in the training ring and on the battlefield.

Clan Sunsharp’s longsuffering senior soldiers have no idea what to do with her. Some want to nurture her zealous spirit, recognizing the need for fresh energy in the clan, while others don’t wish to give her false hope of an idyllic warrior’s lifestyle. Mentored extensively by two high ranking, dangerous parents, Ilrai is neither mindlessly bought into the Clan Sunsharp credo nor naively ignorant of its institutional flaws. She merely understands she has to play the game to win, and she fully intends to come out on top.

Ilrai hails from the Bramble Clan in the Fire domain, so she's no stranger to the unusual. She was raised among blackthorn and brimstone, finding Clan Sunsharp’s alabaster cliffs and golden woods downright mundane by comparison. While ordinarily a model of military excellence, she will occasionally dip into the uncanny, reminding her fellow soldiers of her origins with an unsettling omen or a flash of madness in her eyes. She assures her clanmates she can keep her mania in check, but those who believe her have never seen her in the height of combat.
