_The Arrival_

A faithful dragon, Gloriel is a mystery to her friends and foes alike. Arriving one day in the desert seemingly out of nowhere, the fae took The Lastsparks scouts by surprise. The confused dragon couldn't remember who she was or where she had come from, so was taken back to the lair for medical assistance. Clad in glowing golden armor (the likes of which the clan's blacksmith had never seen before), the female appeared both beautiful and alien. She exuded an undecipherable air - foreign to Sornieth, yet resembling a common fae dragon.

Diagnosed with severe amnesia, and possessing no detectable magic (unheard of in her apparent breed) the little dragon had no choice but to begin a new life, and hope that her memories would come back to her in time. She was dubbed 'Gloriel', and taken into the ranks of the clan's troops, as they assumed she was a fighter due to her strange armor. Indeed, Gloriel proved to be most adept in sword and shield combat - though she seemed to have been trained mainly for defense - and was named a protector rather than a warrior.

_The Message_

Over time, Gloriel began to wonder more and more about her past. Her large golden eyes indicated that she was a light-element dragon, so she began exploring The Sunbeam Ruins, hoping to find something familiar that might trigger a memory. After several months of fruitless visits, the dejected dragon sat on the steps of a ruined temple, and in desperation looked to the Heavens and asked the Lightweaver for guidance.

A shaft of sunlight broke through the clouds, falling onto the stricken fae, and an overwhelming sense of tranquility came over Gloriel. In her mind, she heard a voice whisper that she had been sent to aid the war between Light and the Shade. A beacon of hope in dark times, Gloriel was a defender of the innocent against the creeping blackness. Finally realising her destiny, the fae said a prayer of gratitude and lifted her gilded wings to fly home to her clan. She told of the celestial encounter, and made a vow to uphold her duties and watch for the spread of the Shade. Now filled with purpose, the kind and chivalrous fae is a voice of strength and a steadfast protector.
