Dragons Sornieth-wide love to decorate themselves in various types of apparel. One of the most eye-catching of accessories is, of course, jewelry. Precious stones and metals are mined, refined, and fashioned into beautiful necklaces, rings, bracelets, any shape of sparkling adornment a dragon could ever desire. Jewelry has been coveted as a sign of beauty and wealth for ages, as long as dragonkind can remember. But jewelry doesn't always remain jewelry.
It is a rare phenomenon that dates beyond the memory of any living dragon: every so often, a dragon will wake up and find that their jewelry has come to life.
We call these unusual creatures Jewelry Box Fae.
Despite all attempts at research and study, the true cause of the Jewelry Box Fae phenomenon is unknown. Legend has it that a particularly vain Fae was so in love with the sparkling gems in their jewelry collection that when they died, their soul inhabited their favorite ring and brought it to life. Thus, the first Jewelry Box Fae was born.
And indeed, Jewelry Box Fae frequently manifest following the death of the dragon who owned them, though this is not a hard and fast correlation. And no matter the breed of the owner, the animated gems always appear Fae. Whether this is because of the legend, because Fae are the smallest breed, or some other reason, we may never know for sure.

I didn't realize that his mom is also named Kunzite haha, I guess it makes sense here as they're from the same.. gem ... family.
