As a very young hatchling, Breccia was given special permissions to travel with clan diplomats to visit the sister clan of the Clan of the Striking Bolt, the Clan of the Aurora Mirror. The two clans have a long history of allyship, and a young Breccia begged and pleaded to be allowed to visit the icy lands that the ambassadors described. But this visit would prove to be a mistake, as Breccia inadvertently offended the almighty Fishstick, a temperamental dragon who is respected as a deity-like figure by the sister clan. Fishstick retaliated by cursing the young hatchling to gradually, over the course of her lifetime, dissolve into seafoam.

Breccia’s life was overturned as a result, and she switched her goals from dreams of diplomacy to extensively researching how to reverse the curse that had been placed upon her. Luckily, her Earth constitution was able to slow the process even more so, and most days, she hardly notices the effects of the curse. Yet, as she gets older, Breccia has become more and more aware of the curse that is slowly eating away at her lifespan.

Because of her studies in curse reversal, Breccia has become an expert in curses, and has become a renowned specialist in reversing curses. When the works of other arcanists fail to reverse a curse, dragons have begun to turn to Breccia, and she is more than happy to oblige. She doesn’t want anyone to suffer as she is suffering.

Yet, despite how many other dragons’ curses she has helped to break, Breccia has yet to break her own, despite her endless appeals to the dragon who originally cursed her, who has admitted that he doesn’t understand his own powers, that he acted irrationally, and is sorry for what he did to her. But Breccia doesn’t need Fishstick’s advising to break her curse; she is strong and independent and is determined to save herself, all by herself. Even if she has to work for it until the moment the last of her seafoam sinks beneath the waves.
