Orkeck, alongside Garnet, is one of the leaders of the clan. He feels personally responsible for the safety and well-being of each and every dragon of the clan. Of course, that being said, he still believes that strength is incredibly important. Even though he recognizes that not all dragons are strong in the same way, he insists that every member of the clan, in some way, pulls their own weight. For this reason, it was his decision to ensure that every member be trained, at least somewhat, in combat.

Sometimes reckless and bad-tempered, Orkeck ultimately does whatever he feels he needs to do for the benefit of the dragons in his clan. His role as Patriarch primarily manifests as the role of a general, of sorts. He plans expeditions and raids into Beastclan territory, as well as expeditions to take food and resources by force from the creatures of Sornieth. While some believe that he is cruel, he insists that cruelty is simply an important part of his role as one of the heads of his clan.

He takes a tough-love approach towards all of the young of the clan, whether born or adoptive. He has the utmost respect for all of their individual talents, however, and as the clan continues to prosper and thrive, he is confident that his leadership is a boon, rather than a burden.
