Biography

REDD
Treasurer

Redd, envious of his older brother Yii, feels a great deal of pride for his position in the clan. He guards it well, hoping that some sort of prestige might come with it. Of course, it isn't as though anyone else is exactly after his position. He is an excellent treasurer, and works to ensure that the clan's supply of treasure and gems are used wisely. In a sense, he sees the clan's wealth as his own hoard. It isn't that he views it selfishly, or covets it. More specifically, he sees it as a thing to be proud of. When the clan prospers, he takes responsibility for this. When the clan is short on funds, he sees it as a personal failing on his own part.

He spent a good deal of time, after first coming of age, in the Windswept Plains, where he quickly grew frustrated with the carefree pace of life. Still, he wears several reminders that he received in that land, including the beautiful tattoos that he got on a whim during one Mistral Jamboree. On his travels, he learned how to manage money, and when he returned home, he was more than willing to use this ability for the benefit of the clan.

Some feel that he is too calculating, and far too focused on the accumulation of wealth. When dragons leave the clan to serve the Shadowbinder, he is the one who ensures that they pay their dues before leaving. The relatives of these dragons usually are not terribly pleased with this. Still, he has had many siblings leave the clan himself, and he doesn't do it out of malice. He does it to benefit the clan, and of course, for his own self-worth. Somehow, it helps him stave off the deep-seated feelings of inadequacy that plague him, especially in regards to his elder brother, Yii.
