Biography
Much like his mate, Azharul is gifted in the arcane and was a scholar in the Tourmaline Archives.
When his mate proposed leaving the Starfall Isles under the claims that the Arcanist was not worth following Azharul and much of their clan turned their backs on her, seeing her words as nothing but blasphemy.
Despite not falling prey to his mate's apparent "madness", Azharul found himself shunned from the clan himself in equal parts because of his connection to Tiamat and for abandoning his mate.
Still he stayed in the Starfall Isles for many years before he simply could take no more and set out to follow after his estranged mate. Much like Tiamat and her followers, Azharul first made his way east to the Scarred Wasteland though made no attempt to stay like the group before him; he saw no reason that Tiamat would try to settle in such a disgusting place let alone one right next to her old home. Instead of traveling north to Dragonhome, however, he headed south to the Windswept Plateau, having assumed his mate and her followers would be more likely to head somewhere green and lush rather than a rocky canyon.
Much to his chagrin he still could not find Tiamat and thus continued onward.
He spent several months searching through the Ashfall Wastes, wondering if maybe his mate would have been drawn to Flamecaller's more direct and bold nature only to still find nothing. For two years he searched Shifting Expanse, wracking his mind for any clue of where she could have possibly gone, to who she could have sought sanctuary from. When he could not find her among the Stormcatcher's workers he moved on once more, heading northeast to the Sunbeam Ruins. It is here that he stayed the longest, hoping his mate would have been drawn in by the knowledge and ancient tablets the Light so greatly coveted. It is here that his search nearly ended prematurely as he crossed paths with the infamous Luminax.
The behemoth of a creature chased him for miles, its steps almost leisurely to his frantic flying.
One of the heads nearly caught his tail, the creature's hot breath unsteadying him and sending him careening down to the edge of the Tangled Wood. Seemingly repelled, or maybe having grown bored of the chase, Luminax turned away from the downed dragon, leaving him to live another day.
Disparing and frightened, Azharul simply laid there for a moment before the sound of shifting foliage caught his attention.
Before him stood a dragon he'd never seen before but had read about in ancient texts: a Gaoler. Standing there, she simply stared at him for a time before starting to wander off towards the Foxfire Bramble. When he did not move she turned to him, staring again until the other rose and started to follow. Into the dark, sharp brambles she lead him, certainly a death trap if the rumors he'd heard of shadow dragons were anything to believe, only to find a clearing filled with dragons; a nest.
The Gaoler disappeared from sight but amongst their midst he saw Tiamat, older and wiser.
Quickly he scurried to his mate, pleading forginess.
