Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this flashy triplet wandered a little too far from his home lair Goldenrosi 561581, and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Rouge, Rise and Midsummer decided that it would be an incredibly responsible idea to sneak out of the clan to go on a little adventure, until they got swept away too far from home by a large air current. Now these dragon pups are all on their own, feel free to document their misadventures as they try to get home!

Rouge's Adventure Book
Chapter 1: Flying and Landing

Rouge knew he wasn't the best flyer – none of them were, despite Rise’s determination. Tundra’s were just not made to soar the winds. So he was pleasantly surprised when the airstreams above the Windswept Plateau made flying easier than he had ever anticipated. Once out of their native lands, he was then unpleasantly surprised to find that there was very little lift for his quickly tiring wings to grab hold of. Eventually spiraling downward into what looked like a vast expanse of green, Rise landed, exhausted and graceless and more than half asleep into what looked vaguely like some kind of pool or pond.

The pool that Rise and his siblings had crashed into turned out to be part of MoonRun's Clan (Newtinmpls #657323) and a number of young Undertides soon emerged from the pool to check on the unexpected visitor. They were accompanied by their adoptive parents, an enormous and imposing Guardian named Ddu and his exotic Ridgeback mate, Relic. Rouge found that both of them were profoundly devoted to the lore of the Tidelord, but in different ways. Thinking about it, he realized that since leaving the Windswept Plateau he had felt a desire to search. He was not sure what for, though.

Chapter 2: Ritual and Transformation

Rouge spent many evenings with Relic. She told him stories of lost dragons, of memories of the past. Stories to remember friends and family. Her role as a mourner was to keep dear the tales of those who no longer lived. Rouge found himself envying the certainty that she had found - that she was living her chosen and destined role. He had no such certainty. Considering his own past, family and clan, he wondered. His Tundra heritage implied at least some connection with the Icewarden. However he had loved and felt very at home with his birth nest in the Windswept Plateau, which was under the guidance of the Windsinger. He was not sure of his path.
Relic offered to share with him a ritual meant to help him. She warned him that sometimes the ritual could cause changes; and that there was no sure way to predict what they might be. It was a combination of meditation, alchemy and blessing - and he did emerge from it changed. No longer a young confused hatchling, he was now an adult. Perhaps no closer to “answers” but now feeling settled within himself, and comfortable seeking further for more answers. Or at least more adventures.

Chapter 3: Thanks for the Memories

After leaving Moonrun's clan, Rouge was troubled. He admired Relic's vast and storied memories, but he as a Tundra could never hold such detailed knowledge; in fact, the details of Relic's tales were already beginning to slip away. Hell, he could barely remember his long-lost siblings' faces anymore. He couldn't stand it. He wished he could have Relic's capacity to memorize so many days and dragons past, to engrave every detail of his life and others within his mind.

As fate would have it, he ran into a troupe of Snappers during his travels. Trying to converse with these slow and ponderous creatures was a test of patience, but Rouge doggedly followed their winding paths and eagerly listened to their accounts of the long-past historical events they had experienced firsthand. Rouge realized that unlike the finicky memory of a Tundra, a Snapper never forgets.

He wanted a memory just like that.

Chapter 4: The Hustle
One thing he did remember from his time with Relic was the magic of gene scrolls, and he knew that there was one that could change him into the form he so desired. Unfortunately, that form was very expensive. So Rouge got down to business.

Rouge had never been busier in his life. He picked up odd jobs left and right - pulling weeds for gardeners, babysitting for mothers, record-keeping for scholars. He was gaining so much experience by the day, and he hoped he'd remember it all by the time it paid off. He was saving up diligently, but he couldn't help but splurge a little along the way. Rouge found that he liked to dabble in makeup; a flash of nail polish here, a hint of eyeliner there. He even found a few cheap but gorgeous genes that really made his colors pop. Frivolous, perhaps, but he didn't mind sidetracking a bit for beauty.

Chapter 5: Snapped

Finally, Rouge had achieved his dream: the final penny in the piggy bank, the purchase of a lifetime. He held the scroll tightly in his hands; he couldn't believe this was finally happening. With a deep breath, he let the scroll work its magic. His small, wiry frame gave way to a solidly-built boulder of a body. The deep purples, blues, and orange hues of his fur sprawled ever farther across a vast canvas of armored plating for all to admire. Rouge felt colossal and majestic. He knew he would be forever landbound, but his mind felt infinite. He loved his new form. It was everything he'd ever wanted.

But to his dismay, memories of the past did not come flooding back; his new Snapper brain did not allow him to retrieve details retroactively from his life as a Tundra. In fact, he could recall very little at all from his time before the change. He realized that in order to gain as much knowledge as he could, he would have to make new memories. And so he began his travels again with new resolve, aiming to learn everything he could about the places, people, and events he lived through - and never forget a thing.

Chapter 6: Trouble in Paradise

R ouge was enjoying his new form - no, really! But it troubled him that, try as he might, he could never succeed in recalling his memories from his life as a Tundra. He didn't remember why he was even traveling. Was he trying to meet someone? Chase after someone? One detail that was constant was the nagging feeling that he was supposed to be out here, in the middle of nowhere, for someone - or perhaps multiple dragons. No matter how late he stayed up pondering over it, the details never got clearer. He consulted other travelers, even the mages in the city he found himself at the heels of, but none had an answer for him. Whatever had happened to his memory was apparently his own problem. And one that he wanted solved sooner rather than later. All of this uncertainty was making him rethink his decision. Was becoming a Snapper really worth it? Should he stay this way?

In the end, Rouge found himself at a crossroads. He could stay as he was, a Snapper with muddled memories, or he could try to change his form again and risk whatever complications may arise. Neither sounded great, in his opinion. But it was one or the other, and when he really thought long and hard about it... he knew that a change was in order. It took some researching and more than a little bit of wild goose chasing, but Rouge finally tracked it down. A scroll that would change him yet again. He still didn't want to be a Tundra, but after becoming a Snapper had flopped miserably, he figured he could give another form a go. In this case, he was aiming to become a Nocturne. He placed the scroll in front of him and let it do its magic.

Within moments, Rouge's entire world shifted. He was no longer a Snapper, tough as a boulder and about as large as one too. He was nimbler now, more flexible than even when he was a Tundra. He hurriedly glanced at his own body, and sighed in relief when he saw that he wasn't, in fact, a Spiral by some magical mishap. He was a Nocturne, just as planned. And just like that, the memories flooded back in. His memories as a Snapper faded, but he could recall his life as a Tundra in pristine detail, even remembering some of the things his Tundra mind had previously forgotten. Rouge was relieved, to say the least. And, with that minor memory issue resolved, he knew it was about time to hit the road once again. Hopefully he wouldn't encounter anything quite like that again...
Chapter 7: Love Sick Chic

He had wandered far north into a mining camp deep in the earth realm. Everything seemed normal here–that is until a crazy vixen Nocturne set her eyes on him. She was named MayhemSeeker, a name as wacky as she was. The female. Followed him everywhere popping up at every turn to try and smooch him and she would plead for him to marry her. He didn’t even know this lady and she wouldn’t let him alone. She was living up to her name. He had to get out of here before he ended up hurt or engaged, whichever was worse. It was a little silly to keep running from this girl but what could he do? He didn’t want to hurt her feelings. After a few days of avoiding her he decided to sneak out of the camp in the middle of the night and swore never to come back here ever again It was terrible he had to leave so soon without meeting much of the locals but, the current situation was making him very uncomfortable and thought it would be best if he headed out early so he wouldn’t have to offend anyone.

Chapter 8: Crow Callers

Rouge ventured to a clan on the border of the Scarred Wasteland and Tangled Wood next. He again told himself he wouldn't fall in love... until he met Kimberly. Kimberly reminded Rouge of his time he spent as a Snapper–a time he rather enjoyed. He and Kimberly had a singular hatchling, named Cinnamon, before Rouge departed once more.

Chapter 9: Clan Zephyr and Reunions

Rouge had landed in a wild clan near Singers brook to rest, saddened over the parting at Crow Callers. Rouge decided that some rest in a calm place would be a good remedy.
A few weeks after he settled in, he happened to meet another adventurer: His hatchling Cinnamon who came to search for her father. Elated at the reunion, both decided to travel together for a time.

Chapter 10: Traveling Together, a Father Daughter Trip to the Cloudsong
R
ouge and Cinnamon decided to travel up to the Cloudsong together. They ended up meeting another nocturne named Rouge who invited them to visit the Clan of Dreaming Storms, a clan who built their lair aboard the Cloudsong. Of course Cinnamon agreed right away, and Rouge didn't complain - it would make for some great sight seeing. Staying at the Clan of Dreaming Storms with Cinnamon was very fun, there were always interesting dragons to talk to and plenty of work and activities to participate in. All that activity does tire a dragon out after a time, so Rouge said a heartfelt goodbye to Cinnamon and went on his way.

Chapter 11: Old and New

Rogue was curious. He had heard about the Clan with the crazy Nocturne planning to return to their ancestral home–The Southern Icefield. He decided that he would risk meeting the crazy Nocturne again to see the Clan. It was so far south that getting lost would be deadly. Luckily, it was hard to get lost, since the huge Fortress of Ends was a good landmark. Half frozen–and remembering his Tundra fur with fondness–he found the large walled city near the fortress. Most of the city was indoors, and pleasantly toasty. He saw familiar faces from when the time he had spent in the earth Clan. However, a Dragon he had never seen before caught his eye. It looked like a spiral, due to its long, sinewy body… but it had feathers and a Coatl-like face? Perhaps it was some kind of rare hybrid? “Dadda” it squeaked. “Um, sorry, I’m not your Daddy. Wait, are you a hatchling? You’re way too big to be a Spiral hatchling!“ Rouge was puzzled. A soft female voice from behind him answered his question. “She’s not a Spiral, nor am I.” When he turned around to face the owner of the voice he realized he had to look up to meet her eyes. There smiling down at him was another–much larger–strange Dragon. She was beautiful, with yellow and blue colors to her scales and feathers. “I am Pye,” she told him. “And we are a much older and somewhat fabled breed called the Auraboa. Our kind has rarely left the confines of our home to explore, and we are just beginning our travels. If you wish, you can come with me. I will take you to the record keeper, who holds the history of our kind. After I see this little one home first, of course.“ Rouge agreed and soon he was standing in Ink’s Hall of Records. There were tons of books, so many that the shelves holding them seemed a mile high. He read all about the Aurabora and found himself considering being one some day. Big, flexible, and feathery–what wasn’t there to like? On the way back to his room at the B&B he saw that crazy nocturne female again. He was sure she would harass him again, maybe more now that he changed into a Nocturne, but no, she ignored him completely. That was fine with Rouge. He planned to stay and learn more about this city and its inhabitants. While he stayed he had a small family that stayed. They were old enough to be out on their own.

Chapter 12: The Twisting Crescendo

After staying in the cold Icefield Clan, Rouge decided to return to something closer to home. He had never been much of a long-time traveler. He liked to go to the Windswept Plateau from time to time. Then it struck him–He had been so interested in the places he’d gone, he forgot all about his siblings and his home! He wondered where they were, and what they were like now. He wondered if they were still Tundra, or if they had undergone changes similar to himself. It seemed like forever since the three of them had snuck out of their Clan to go adventuring. Rouge thought about his family back home, his parents, and most of all, his siblings. Somewhere they were out there, in the world, by themselves, and he wanted to see them. Rouge made up his mind. He would eventually find his siblings, one way or another. Nevertheless, he was on his way to the Windswept Plateau, and he planned to make the most of it.

When he arrived at the Windswept Plateau, he wanted to see a place he had never seen before, so he went to the Twisting Crescendo. Of course, as a Wind Dragon, he had seen the Twisting Crescendo, but he had never really visited it. As a Tundra, his flight skills were too poor to risk going near it. For the first time in his life, he attempted to fly in the Crescendo. As he swirled around, totally in control, barely even needing any effort, he realized that he appreciated his Nocturne form more than ever. He still wanted to try out the form of an Auraboa, but now was not that time. Suddenly, he swerved, nearly colliding with something within the Crescendo. He turned to get a better look, and saw that there was a… pocket… within the Crescendo. It was hard to understand what it was. He was bewildered about the void, and he decided to figure it out. He flapped furiously and managed to touch the mysterious deepness. And he disappeared. When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the Twisting Crescendo. Rather, he was somewhere warm and calm, and… quiet. He blinked. Then, there was a Dragon coming up towards him and lifting him from the ground. “Welcome,” she said to him. “You have discovered the Aeolian Domain.” Confused, Rouge stood up. The large Skydancer smiled. “You weren’t expecting this, were you?” “No,” he told her. “I’m just a traveler, and I thought that I would check out the Twisting Crescendo.” “Ah,” she nodded. “When we decided to be in the center of the Wind in the world, we didn’t realize how dangerous it would be. Ever determined to live as close as we could to the ideals of the Windsinger, we created a pocket dimension as our domain. It is quite large, filled with everything the natural world provides. Besides, whenever we decide to leave our home, we can easily fly out on the Wings of the Winds. But I tangent. Welcome. I am the way keeper of the Aeolians. Let us go find you somewhere to rest and refresh yourself.” Rouge stayed with the Aeolians in their magic-created realm for quite a while. He enjoyed the nostalgic Windy-ness of the place, and the happy and enjoyable Aeolians. However, he did want to find his siblings. So he decided to set off once again on his journeys. On the way out of the Crescendo, he became very dizzy, and when he looked at himself next, he realized that some magic caused him to stay that way–his eyes anyways. They were all spiral-y and twisty. It made him dizzy to look at his own eyes! He sighed, but it didn’t affect him in any other way, so he didn’t let it worry him… yet.

Chapter 13: Here to Songs and Tales
In the luminous realm of Lanternlea Port, where white stones gleamed and towers reached towards the heavens like silent sentinels, Rouge, a traveler with scales the color of a twilight canopy, found refuge. Here, amidst the alabaster and the sky, he encountered Qimi, a dragon whose delicate pink scales were a soft whisper against the bold backdrop of the port. Her wings, a tapestry of rose and fuchsia, fluttered like petals on the wind.
Alcho, in stark contrast, bore the majestic hues of the night: purple scales that held the secret depth of the cosmos, with wings dotted in vivid green, reminiscent of the first buds of spring. These two dragons, one as delicate as a dawn chorus and the other as profound as the evening star, took Rouge under their wing.
They danced through Lanternlea’s marbled expanse, weaving between towers that echoed with the harmonies of their laughter. Qimi's voice, light and clear, rose above the stones, teaching Rouge the songs of their storied history, while Alcho’s tales, rich and deep, spoke of the mysteries that lay beyond the known skies.
The time came when the call of the unknown whispered once more to Rouge, urging him back to the skies. With hearts both heavy and hopeful, Qimi and Alcho gifted him with a satchel of iridescent starfruits, their skins glistening like the very towers of Lanternlea. With a promise to carry their stories with him, Rouge took flight, his path illuminated by the memory of pink and purple, of white stones and eternal towers, and of friendship that would endure beyond distances.

Chapter 14: The Forest Kingdom
I came across this forest and discover there's a kingdom here. So, I went to the kingdom and I look around. The village is nice looking and there is not that much dragons living here. I come across the Inn here and it's called the River Inn. I decide not to stay at the Inn because I didn't plan to stay here for at long. So, I went to shop and eating places here. I enjoy my time here and I think it's time for me to go.

Chapter 15: Beachside Hunt

Rouge flew a fair distance looking for his siblings, taking him out of the windsinger's domain and across to the cliffs overlooking the beaches of the tidelord's
After being, well, politely escorted right towards the overhanging edges of the clifftop by a small group of definitely-previously-angered birds, he clambered along the side to the outskirts of a small clifftop forest, looking around for any sign of a clan here, only catching sight of some discarded parchments and some odd looking.. trees..?
Along the cliff he continued, sighing slightly before coming across a few scattered worn down driftwood shacks scattered around.
Those trees are definitely following you.
That's not normal.

Rouge scattered, dropping some supplies he'd picked up and running for somewhere to hide, only hearing a distant sigh from behind him. As he hid, he noticed a tree-like beast pass by, and as such, after a short rest (and returning to gather his dropped supplies before anything else could get to them), he took that as his cue to leave

Chapter 16: Returning to the Call
Rouge briefly went back to a clan he found... oddly familiar. He realized why - this was Crow Callers, where he had previously fallen in love with Kimberly.

He didn't feel like seeing if she was still around, so he left a few days later.

Chapter 17: A Trip to the Scrying Workshop

Rouge witnessed the arrival of the Dusthide ancients. Curious, he paid a visit to the Scrying Workshop to see how he would look.
dragon?age=1&body=172&bodygene=298&breed=25&element=3&eyetype=6&gender=0&tert=34&tertgene=291&winggene=308&wings=47&auth=1bc7ada29b8b1d467d067e26e55b98811ea08a63&dummyext=prev.png

Not bad! Rouge was happy as a Nocturne but it was nice to know about all the options breed and gene scrolls can offer.
