Biography
Thoron
Warrior | Patriarch | Second-in-Command
The clan's quiet and reliable founder and patriarch
|
Thoron is the clan patriarch. A Wildclaw of few words, he is trusted and relied on by his clan members to keep them safe. Riddled with scars, he has seen many battles in his days before the clan. In his day-to-day routine, he directs the clan's defenses, and when involved in battle himself, his presence alone tends to boost morale.
Thoron used to be a Guardian, but became a Wildclaw so he could be closer in size to Mira, yet still be powerful enough to protect his Charge, the clan. After his transformation he found himself feeling more youthful and nimble, but still a Guardian at heart with a Charge to protect. Background: The last hatchling born to a clan of scavengers that lived in Focal Point, the Guardian Thoron was thrown into battle at a very young age, and forced to constantly fight for his life against the mysterious creatures that came from above. Because of this, he became the clan's strongest warrior, and he felt duty-bound to defend them in this place they had chosen to live, despite their constant struggle to survive. This all changed when he met Mira. A curious, tiny Fae, she seemingly appeared out of nowhere one day, and would surely have been crushed by an asteroid if he did not happen to catch her out of the corner of his eye just in time. "Why have you come here? This is no place for your kind." "My kind? Guardian, my kind is your kind. We are all born of the gods and we belong wherever we choose. I am here because I am here." For a while after, Thoron found himself thinking deeply about his place in the world, thoughts that not once before had crossed his mind. He encountered the Fae many times after in the coming weeks, saving her life again on a few of those occasions, and again encountering that confusing sense of pride she had. It puzzled him. It frustrated him. She told him stories of the places she had visited. Her travels across the Starfall Isles surely too great for a dragon as small as she. But, he found himself enraptured by the thoughts of these places, and the places she had yet to visit... and eventually by the thought of her. He wouldn't admit it to anybody, but his clansmen all knew. The time for him to leave and start his own clan had come. His place was not here. In time, he came to accept it as well, and together with Mira they set out for a place to call home. Now, he serves as clan patriarch for this thriving family of dragons the two have created for themselves. Perhaps it is something in Mira's blood, but all of their hatchlings have been called to travel far and wide to serve the gods. It is not so sad, though, as Thoron has the whole clan - this whole big family - to serve as his Charge, and every day is fulfilling. |
