Mira is an intense, studious Fae who somehow intimidates even the largest of dragons. She has survived against impossible odds and knows her own ability. Her day-to-day duties for the clan are many -- as the Matriarch, she has a guiding hand in whatever the clan does, she personally meets with all dragons who wish to join the clan, and she is the clan Lorekeeper, keeping meticulous record of history and daily events.

She has learned to speak all Draconic languages, although her mannerisms are still very Fae.

Background:
Mira hatched alone, a long time ago, from an abandoned egg that was lucky enough to have warm weather. Not knowing her parents, and not knowing how to do much of anything, she was found by a nearby Fae clan and cared for until she was old enough to get on her feet. Unfortunately, that clan was poor and unable to feed an adult dragon. Immediately upon adulthood, that was it -- she was kicked out on her own, with nowhere to go.

Understandably, Mira was bitter. Lost and afraid, she traveled the Starfall Isles, trying to find a place to call home. But there was none that she could find, and narrowly avoiding death on many occasions, she started to get very resourceful.

Traveling started becoming fun. It became a game. 'Will I survive today?' She would ask herself, not honestly knowing the answer. But she would do everything she could to win, and clinch all sorts of narrow victories. She became nimble. She became good at fighting. She nurtured her innate magic ability and found there was much more she could do than she'd ever known.

Soon enough, there were plenty of clans who wanted her to join them, and many dragons that wished to talk to her, and even to woo her. But Mira found that she did not want to become tied down to any one place. Instead, she made this a game as well. She talked to these dragons, and listened to their stories. She learned writing and reading from a Light scholar in a mixed-flight clan. She began writing things down as she went from place to place, each new encounter teaching her something new about the world, but not her place in it.

One day she decided she would test her bravery and her skills. She made her way to Focal Point, a place that smaller dragons seemed to fear. Crushing boulders falling from the sky constantly, they certainly had a reason to. But Mira knew there was much to learn by facing danger, and so she went.

It was terrifying. A relentless rain of stone and fire. She tried to keep up, to evade the barrage, but it tested her very limits. Finally, she was about to give in to her fears and leave, when --

"Why have you come here?
This is no place for your kind."

A Guardian hovered above her, his massive wings shielding her from the onslaught from above. Sure, she was grateful, but --

"My kind? Guardian, my kind is your kind. We are all born of the gods and we belong wherever we choose. I am here because I am here."

The Guardian was taken aback nearly as much as she was. Reluctantly, he bid her safe travel, and began to fly away. But before she had the chance to do the same, he returned.

"Surely you need a place to stay. My clan is not far."

Mira followed him, and stayed with his clan for the next several weeks. The Guardian, Thoron, was somewhat of a mystifying character to her. He was stubborn and blunt, and very quiet, but listened to her tales with rapt attention, hanging on every word. It was immensely flattering. She found it very hard to leave.

Eventually, she decided it was time to move on. She had learned all she could from this harsh place, and there were others yet unvisited. She was not expecting the disciplined, fairly unemotional Guardian to confess his love to her, and ask her to take him along on her travels. And for all she had learned, she had not expected to agree, and to feel the same way.

Their travels together eventually brought them to the Southern Icefield, where they decided they wanted to start their own clan. In the beginning they adopted three unwanted hatchlings - Selene, Sol and Dian - and raised them as their own, training them in battle and in ways to serve the clan. Mira's clan has grown far beyond her wildest expectations since then, and her days are very busy with making sure everyone is cared for, and with hearing all sorts of wild stories from her clansmates, who hail from all flights.
