Born in Dragonhome into an ancient clan of dragons whose entire point of existence was to guard the Cairnstone Rest, Beetle grew up in a stressful, albeit tight-knit, environment. Being Snappers, the clan regularly travelled back between the Cairnstone Rest and the Shattered Plain in squads, taking turns between active duty and training & recovery.

Grudgingly, the clan allowed the expedition into the Cairnstone Rest to find their lost deity- the Snapper clan felt moved, having a spiritual culture, they understood the aimlessness and distress that could possibly come with not being able to have any way to contact their own.

Upon the arrival of the Obelisks, Beetle's clan tore apart. One group stayed to continue to protect the Cairnstone Rest, and the other, feeling alienated and betrayed by the allowance of the expedition to take place and disturb the Rest, fragmented and individually broke away to find another place, another clan to call their own. Amongst those was Beetle.

Although very small, Beetle is an adult. She and Svana were in opposite squads, but they did choose to leave together. Over time, they've gotten to know each other better, but they still would only consider each other friendly acquaintances and former comrades.
