A Rifter looking to uncover the truth behind his family together with his cousin, Raphael, and their best friend, Ominous. What started out as a little adventure of looking for treasure, turned into an interdimensional quest with stakes higher than any of them could have imagined.

Hereward is a calm and collected individual who seems to want to avoid conflict, but under that cover is a bit of a mischievous rascal. With his feather-light steps and a highly intelligent mind, Hereward is a true rogue at heart, though you wouldn't know it unless you knew him personally. Charming despite his cool demeanor, Hereward is good at resolving conflicts without violence. He also considers Raphael his brother, despite knowing that they aren't. Unbeknowst to him, he and Raphael were saved by Harn from the Organization's laboratories while they were too young to remember.

As far as he's aware, Hereward was abandoned by his parents together with Raphael, and taken in by a woman in a small village, who became his and Raphael's adoptive mother. They grew up peacefully in the quiet village, living a carefree life, although he was often dragged into "adventurous quests" by Raphael and Ominous (although these were often nothing more than playing in the local forest). It's not quite that Hereward minded- he did enjoy these "quests"- but he was always the quietest of the trio. He was just as content to just help his mother with her work, or to read a book, or simply play on his own.

As he grew, Hereward became a bit of a troublemaker, learning to pick locks for his own amusement, sneaking up behind people, and generally being a bit of a sneaky nuisance. He didn't really do anything malicious, though; just stealing an apple here and there, picking the lock of the candy cabinet at home... harmless fun, in his eyes. Upon Raphael's insistence, he also became quite skilled with a dagger. "To defend yourself when we go on a grand adventure!" or something like that.

When the time came that he, Raphael and Ominous were all old enough to travel on their own, Hereward gladly went along on their quest to discover treasure. Not just because someone needed to keep an eye on those two doofuses, but also because he, too, wanted to see the world for himself. While the sleepy village life had suited him fine, he had to admit, he did feel like they were destined for something greater... but that was just a feeling, right?

It was not, as it turns out.

They'd been travelling for a while when they were attacked by members of the Organization, who had finally found the two stray Rifters. None of them understood what was happening, or what the heck these attackers were talking about when they called them "property of the Organization", and "Temporal Rifters". They were nonsense terms, as far as Hereward was concerned, made up by their attackers to confuse them. Still, these were powerful opponents, and it became very clear very quickly that this was a losing battle.

In their panic, Hereward pulled upon his powers for the first time in his life, powers he wasn't even aware he had, somehow combining them with Raphael's. He didn't know what he did, what they did, except-

One moment, they were fighting these strange attackers, and the next, they were on an alien world, far away from where they'd been. Needless to say, he was shocked, dumbfounded, and most of all... a little scared, really.

And yet, this moment kicked off what would turn out to be a great journey of self-discovery, familial ties, the bonds of friendship, and uncovering secrets and powers beyond any of their wildest dreams. They learned of the Temporal Rifters- their family, that they were part of it, and that it meant- well- something. They didn't know what yet, but it was important.

They also were horrified to learn that they'd been lucky, and that many of their fellow Rifters got lost in the fight against the Organization. As a result, he, Raphael, and Ominous decided to should raise a diverse brood of children for every world they visited, let them learn the powers of said world, and hope that they could aid the rest of their family against the Organization. Sure, they still didn't know a lot about the Temporal Rifters when they decided to do so, but...

Time would surely tell. Hereward knew as much.

It always did.
