Biography

Bumbler is a very well-traveled dragon, who has been a bit all over the place. Ze was born in the jungles of the Shrieking Wilds, surrounded by more plants than anyone could ever wish to see, and ze loved that. All there was to learn about trees and flowers and vines of all kinds, ze learnt. Ze's basically always been a big bee, fluttering from flower to flower. By some dragons' standard, ze's also about bee sized.

Curious about the rest of the world and full of energy, ze left zir birth clan and began to travel. First, Bumbler headed south and towards the Tangled Woods. Ze quite liked the place. Very different from zir birth lands, but being a lover of everything that grows ze was at ease between the twisted and darkened branches. The giant fungi fascinated zir too, so unlike the plants ze was used to.

After that, ze moved through the Sea of a Thousand Currents and towards the Windswept Plateu. Soft grass and tall bamboo, so much more for zir to see and learn about. Bumbler made some friends in the area of Reedcleft Ascent, remaining with a local clan for a few years. While ze found zirself at home there, ze eventually decided to return to zir travels, saying goodbye to zir friends and heading north to the Scarred Wasteland.

That journey proved to be a mistake. Not because of the lack of luxurious forests for Bumbler to see, ze had heard of the Plague lands' environment and wasn't afraid of it. In fact, ze would have liked to go all the way to the Seedscar. The problem was that Bumbler got infected while travelling. Nothing that unusual around those parts, but the sickness worsened fast, and didn't react well with Bumbler's Nature elemental power. Healers aren't too common there. Ze was helped by travelling merchants who led zir to the border of Starwood Strand, where ze could look for help.

Bumbler needed a long time to heal from zir sickness. Even when ze left the healer houses, ze had to take things easy. At first ze stuck to the lowlands of Starfall Isles - and then decided ze was recovered enough, and headed for Crystalpine Reaches. The ascent through the peaks was far from easy given Bumbler was still weak, but ze made it either way.

When ze came to Alkaid Vale, the local clan was still in its infancy. The clan leaders Green and Downsoft had decided to settle down only years earlier, and their first clutch of hatchling was still growing. By chance, it turned out their friend Sunstorm happened to be related to some of the dragons Bumbler had lived with in the Windswept Plateu. Both Sunstorm and Bumbler were glad to meet each other, and Bumbler decided to remain with the clan for a while. After all, a new clan with a lot of young ones needed help, and ze was happy to look after the little ones if the parents needed a break.

Ze also might have needed a break after climbing all that way up, but ze would firmly deny that to anyone who asked.

Years passed, and Bumbler was still there. Maybe one day ze will take up travelling again, but for the time being ze is content sticking to this place. Ze helped tend to the garden Downsoft had started, originally just medicinal plants and some food to store, and with zir help the plants are now flourishing. The work is zir pride and joy, and ze loves experimenting with new seeds and seeing what can take root within the mountainside.
