"A house is built of walls and beams; a home is built of love and dreams." - unknown

______ Idris is a very studious Dragon who has an admired fascination for magic and Alchemy. Because of her strange disease that seems to have no cure that's been found, she is required to drink a special medicine every single day, but only a drop of it. But ever since she's recovered from her dire state, she's also found that her strange water-like transparency can come in handy at times, such as not being affected by extreme heat nor cold, and when she's attacked all attacks go right through her. More than anything, she's very grateful for Elwyn and the kind Dragons of Clan Paladin, and more than anything she's happy they accepted her for who she is.
______ She spends most of her time in her special lab connected to her room, sometimes working with one of the other many scientists of the Clan, but most of all she loves to spend her time with her beloved, Elwyn, and others of the Clan. Though at first she was wary of the others, she grew very close to the rest of the Clan, particularly towards the ever kind Milithinal and the sad and caring Valoura, and she's eternally grateful to Blossom, the Clan's herbalist, for finding a special mixture that allowed her to be solid for a certain amount of time, making it possible for her and Elwyn to mate. When she's not working on a cure for her strange, water-based condition, she's often working on cures for more of the other fatalistic and dangerous diseases of the Wyrmwood alongside Blossom and others in the Vitaglow Courtyard. She's also quite often can be found with Elwyn, helping him write his poems.
______ Idris finds her familiar, Freight, very interesting. The Rainbow Sprite had seemingly just shown up one day a while after she came to be with the Clan, and to her utter surprise, he was just completely relaxing literally inside her, swimming around in her completely water-like body as if she was a Dragon-shaped fishbowl. Instead of being weary or angry of him, she just let him be, and over time he became her faithful companion, going almost everywhere with her, and having his own pool of water in her room.

______ She came to Clan Paladin after her strange disease had settled down more or less. After spending a long time with Avaline and her previous Clan, she decided to find her own path, not wanting to become a burden to her new home. After searching, she finally met her now forever beloved, Elwyn. She never expected to fall in love, and was definitely never having expected to be loved by another, but that all changed when she met the kindly Imperial.
______ For the longest time, the lost Skydancer traversed the Sunbeam Ruins, sticking to the shadows and never getting too close to any other Dragon, feared that others would act negative to her due to her condition. But, one day, she let her guard down; the sun was setting, and as she sat there, staring at the golden hue, she never noticed the figure approaching till he was directly behind her. As soon as she caught sight of him standing behind her, she immediately wanted to flee, but something about the blue and green mottled Imperial stilled her, most of all being that he simply walked past her, seeming to all but ignore the watery Skydancer, and when he sat and stared out over the water towards the sunset, she decided to sit right next to him.
______ Since then, she would often go to the cliff, and everytime the Imperial would appear, still all but ignoring her as he contemplated the sunset. Finally, she got the nerve to talk to him, and was more than surprised to find he was a poet for a Clan that accepted all Dragons, no matter who or what they were. Intrigued, she finally one day accepted his invite to visit his Clan. There, though she was very nervous and scared, she quickly found that indeed, his Clan was neither scared nor hateful of her condition, instead almost all of them finding it interesting to various degrees. After visiting many times over, spending most of her time with the Imperial, one day he finally confessed to her by giving her a specially written poem, and she's been with Clan Paladin ever since, forever happy to have finally found her home.

______
The Beauty of Rain
-By Elwyn

The Rain, forever scorned and scolded for toiling the Sun,
Has seen no Light shine for only does Darkness run.
Clashing of Thunder, Sky shattered in Rage,
Makes Fear run rampant from Age to Age.

Only when one looks beyond the Cold,
Beyond the Dusk and Stormy scold,
Does the tears streak throughout the Sky
And Darkness becomes Envy, Rage becomes Shy.

Only with the Dawn's breaking
And the Sun creates Light for the taking
That the beauty of the Storm is bound;
The hopeful Rainbow that is found.

Original tale of how she first came to Light Flight to her first Clan before moving here:

A blue dragon walked along the Plague expanse. She had been walking a long way, and decided to stop next to a river. Her scales were shot through with white, and her red eyes gleamed, two rubies that mirrored the water. It was red, and thick in a disgusting sludge form. It bubbled and snapped, causing the substance to almost be spattered on her wings. With a little gasp she backed away, and continued her walk.

She was parched and panting from her journey. Back home at her village, a new disease had been introduced. It was a strange one, and it caused several different results among them. For the first dragon, it caused all her scales to fall off; she screamed and writhed in pain until her skin was shredded too. Her body slowly broke down, and it terrified the rest of the village. It was obvious that this disease had gone too far. Many of the dragons had been crashed in the streets, unable to stand and slowly starving or dying from some cruel side effect of the sickness.

She had fled. She was in extreme pain, and was not even truly conscious anymore. The journey through Plague was exhausting, and next she stumbled through Shadow. All the Clans shut their doors to her, for she must have looked dreadful. Idris eventually made it to Light, and she hadn’t even found a Clan before she met a dragon. She was orange, brown and red, and she had feathered wings and antlers.

This dragon ran over to her in concern. “Are you okay? You look like you’ve gone through so much! What happened?”

Idris tried to speak, but made only a low croaking sound. Her eyes blinked dumbly as she tried to understand what was before her. Was it a dragon? Was this a moose?

“Come with me! Right now!” She did not command this rudely, but all in a panic. The Pearlcatcher felt sick with worry, her stomach and head aching, and she reached for the Skydancer’s wrist as to lead her with.

Anivia shrieked as her claws went through the dragon’s paw. Idris began to shake uncontrollably and fell to her knees, and then to the ground completely as her legs fell from beneath her. All she heard was a muffled “Help!” as her vision sputtered out.

They could not move her, as their claws passed through her scales, so the leader had to come to her position. Idris awoke to the same warm-colored dragon as before, and a blue-gray dragon who shone in an almost painful way. Kelsus was her name, and she would soon come to know her and love her as a leader, as well as try to do everything as a servant would in gratitude.

Kelsus handed her a small glass vial that was of a bright golden liquid, and instructed her to only drink a drop. Idris lifted the glass, and it dripped once into her mouth. She immediately lost all want. What was this? She lost all desire for anything. She did not want to drink, and she did not want to eat or sleep. She felt like a statue.

“What is your name? And what is wrong with your scales? Where is your home?” Anivia asked all at once.

“I am Idris,” She said, her voice sweet as the chime of a silver bell. “I have contracted a disease from my village in Plague, but it is not able to be spread. My scales and my body are entirely water. I can touch and hold objects, and go through them if I wish. But I can have no contact with other dragons,” She said a bit sadly. “The medicine you have here is amazing… Care to let me stay? I do not have a home any longer, and I would love to help care for your sick in any way I can.”

Kelsus dipped her head in approval, and the liquid dragon smiled back.
