Cove is Opal's right-hand man, who was quickly recruited into her flight shortly after it was formed. From the very beginning, Cove admired her. He loved her bravery and combat skills and fell head over heels for her. So he's more than willing to stand by her side in leadership so he can support the dragon he loves. It doesn't matter if Opal isn't exactly someone with a good heart, he is too lovestrucken to interfere.
