Biography
Morningstar's most technically gifted mage arrived at the clan in a hurry; a delicate boy tripping over his claws as he climbed between the logs of the Driftwood Drag. Though he took the form of an Imperial, it seemed to his newfound clanmates to be a shell, a thin paper crust over something arcane and unsettling beneath the surface. The boy was soft-spoken and playful, but there were many indications that whatever bubbled inside him held great sway over the magical world: torches along the walls where he stepped took a fuchsia hue for just a moment before reverting back; water flowed not around his body, but rather, along a spherical path a few inches away from his scales. Whatever Morningstar's intention was in calling this dragon to their home, the clan were glad to have someone of such evident magical inclination.
One evening shortly after their arrival to the Frozen Sanctum, the once-jovial Gus abruptly stopped building snow-chipskinks (they levitated), and retired to his quarters. When night fell, he stepped outside the lair into the blistering winds of the Icefields. At the gate, Dalmatian stepped in his path to stay him from meeting an unceremonious end in the cold; Gus smiled softly and reassured the Aberration that he would not be long.
Morningstar has led me. Morningstar will shape me. I will be reborn and bring glory to our kin.
He stepped beyond the gate and looked to the sky, vision a whir of snowflakes and stars. He took a moment to bask in the glory of Morningstar, of this most glorious feeling of aloneness with the padded sounds of snow-cover and the private company of the celestial bodies above. He felt a sudden warmth in his wingtips and nose, and it spread through his entire form, pulses of bubblegum light radiating from him and catching on the snowfall by his sides.
When he marched back toward Morningstar gates, his form was long and lizardly, his eyes bright and glamorous. He had been born anew - a beautiful bubblegum bogsneak! With his transformation came the realization of his powers, and those forces which had once passively existed around him now took hold inside, fully within his control. He nodded gently in the direction of the gates before Dalmatian could rise to unlock them, and they swung ajar. It was clear to his peers in this moment that his transformation was complete - they had a master mage in their midst.
Though unmatched in prowess, Gus dedicated himself not to conjuration or alchemy -- instead, he ordered a deluxe set of dazzling periwinkle collars and mitts, and took up his full-time gig as the clan's stage magician and ambassador of Morningstar! From rabbits in hats to disappearing acts, Gus covers all of the magician essentials with grandeur and style. His shows have not failed to sell out on a single evening since his debut.
His trademark theme, Motivational Morningstar Magic, focuses on empowering his audience through the transformative powers of Mornignstar - all through captivating card tricks and dazzling disappearances. He was among the most eager to see the arrival of Raspberry Roman, and the two work together to promote Morningstar connection while building up each clam member's sense of wonder and trust in their dreams. Selected before his rebirth to be the face of possibility and self-actualization, Gus fills his role with joy, dramatic whimsy, and a bow before the curtains close.
