When Peach and Aloadae had their first clutch, they adored all of their children. However, one of their hatchlings attracted more attention than the others; with yellow-tinged feathers and eyes that wept petals and sprouts, Finale was definitely the odd one out. His eyes worried Peach from birth, and he quickly was taken to her Retreat as a permanent resident. Fortunately, as he has grown, Finale has shown no ocular discomfort.
A permanent resident of the Retreat and member of Clan Querencia, Finale passes his time with music. He claims to hear the voices of the flora around him, and sings their thoughts for dragons to hear, songs of trepidation and resolve that reaches far below even the deepest roots in the ground. He has a strong affinity for Nature-based magic, and the Poisonmaster Caladium has started to visit to help him hone his skills. The more he grows, the more Finale has become keenly aware of a sense of foreboding at the edges of the forest's awareness, and it has made him uneasy. While he loves his parents, Finale feels a little suffocated by their constant worry, and finds relief not only in Caladium, but also his Auntie Feyace, who stoked mischief in his heart at a young age. He helps out around the tearooms, and plays music for his grandfather to perform to. |

Dear diary,
It has been several days since I've last written, and for that, I'm sorry. Life has afforded me no rests as I continue to grow and learn, sing and fly. And yet, I still manage to find the time to write today - small blessings, it would seem! Caladium is as harsh of a teacher as ever, but she is doing her best. I can feel the pain in her heart from loss, and I think it's causing her to be a little tougher on me. It's not personal - I know that much. Auntie Fey is my sole relief as of now - she weaves me stories of the Icefields. I long to visit; supposedly the Icewarden and Gladekeeper were close friends once upon a time! My parents... Have been as suffocating as ever. I know they do so out of love - I know I'm unlike most of the dragons in our Clan. But it makes this no easier to cope with! I only want to sing the stories of the forest. Ah, I hear mother calling me now - I must end here for today. Thank you for listening, diary; until next we meet...! |
