They do not realize that beneath her confidence a festering insecurity lurks, spurring her competitive nature and broiling temper to new heights. As a hatchling it is said she exhibited her father's inquisitive mind, but as a juvenile has outgrown it. Given Draugluin's more easy going nature, many wonder how Thelxiope became so mercurial. They fail to recognize her mother's stoic ruthlessness, too distracted by the daughter's snapping jaws until it is too late.
Spawn of the Oracle wrote:
Thelxiope never doubted that she, the firstborn of Draugluin the Oracle, would pass the Trials. The fulfillment of her expectations ended there. Unlike her sire, she did not obtain the rank of Necromancer. Already she intends to take the Trials again, self-assured that eventually she will succeed and be on the path to inherit the Oracle's power. It will be a hard lesson learning that not all are meant for greatness.
