Destris

Originally a brave soul of the Leviathan Trench, Destris crept into the clan manually and has stayed for the unusual comfort it provides.

There are very few Dragons brave enough to head down into the Leviathan Trench's depths, the dark unknown where not even the Tidelord can help you.
Even fewer are willing to live in those depths. To submerge and submit to the waves fully.
... Even fewer who do so and aren't Water dragons.
And yet, here he is. It was tough to find someone willing to aid him without calling him a fool with a death wish. Or assumed he was trying to steal riches for Lightning.
But eventually, he did manage; finding a soul who was willing to give him a charm to breathe underwater indefinitely, and who wished him luck even if he could tell they anticipated his death.
And so, down he went.

It wasn't any particular reason he wanted to see the murky abyss.
It just felt better. Felt right. Down here, something clicked in his head; submerged in the deepest calls of the waves, he was finally alive.


And then, one day, while skimming the sides, he found a torn-open crack. Someone had managed to claw in here; and claw deep.
He knew he probably shouldn't follow, but.. His curiosity got the better of him, and tight and rugged as it was, he eventually crawled through to...
...A crystalline cavern?
Sure as it was, an alien cavern spouted before him; a whole ecosystem, untapped by any.
Well..
Any, as he initially thought, until a strange dragon clambered over to him and began asking several questions.
As he later learned, he had followed the Founder's initial path, which was abandoned due to the hazard of it.
The abyss was more comfortable, but it was also harsh.
..Perhaps this abyssal ecosystem would do instead, then.

• Destris lives in the initial pool, much preferring the touch of the water. He's even carved himself out a small mini-den in the underhang there! He still socializes, and he makes his name in the clan by going into the further abyss using their initial entry and bringing up treasures for the rest of them.
• Deepswell is one of the abyss beasts he found and ended up getting attached to. One of the many oddities of the abyss, who now lives with him in the pools of the Crystalcrag.
