Rosedust

A young, well-traveled scholar who stumbled across the clan by sheer happenstance, but has decided to try and document the irregularities of the Crystalcrag while he's there! Optimistic and inquisitive, he'll often be found plucking shards and inspecting flora, while taking extensively detailed notes. He's a pleasure to be around, so long as you don't mind his Aether habits and endless questions!

Rosedust was born on Sornieth, after the fall of the Astrolab, to some of the survivors from the crash. He was born with an inquisitive streak as Aethers tend to be, and were raised under a loving family until he decided it was about time to carry on and seek out the world himself!
He's actually seen much of Sornieth, travelling domain to domain in order to learn more about the world of the dragons now that he'd settled themself on it comfortably, and tended to wander for the longest time.
This was, of course, until he spotted an odd Aether working the dirt, showing barely a hint of scholarly instinct! They ended up talking, and he learned their name, and of how Walenai had been lost to the depths and was raised by a completely different species(!), and of the mysterious cavern that they had come to call home.
Deciding this strange place was a wonderful potential research topic, he gladly followed them and settled more permanently into the Rippleshard Clan, taking advantage of the proximity to record many new discoveries!

• He learned a duplication spell rather early on so that his book-eating instincts didn't ruin his personal records. He blesses himself for choosing to keep that knack, with all the interesting records he now has!
• There's an extremely interesting pearlcatcher who seems to know NOTHING about the world of Sornieth, which has led to the two bonding as Rosedust tells them tales of his time on the surface. There's absolutely something wrong with them; their body doesn't sit as it's supposed to, and they disappear into the waters around the clan, but he's certainly not going to be rude about it! He did try to ask once, but that ... went about as well as you'd expect. Something about "being out of your element here" and "a concept that'd be... difficult, to explain". He just hopes one day they talk about it!
• Extremely close with Walenai, being the first two Aethers in the clan, and the only two for the longest time. He finds some comfort in the familiarity of form, while also enjoying their more hard-working demeanor, just for how different it is!
• Everglade is his assistant and scrollkeeper, making sure his records are orderly, accessible, and most of all, uneaten. It helps to have a second bit of impulse control!
• Gaenor will often show up to ask about his work, and if there's anything that he needs help with. He enjoys his eager aid, and it especially helps to not have to worry about going out there himself on more dangerous trips!! (not that he sends Gaenor out there intentionally to avoid risk. Gaenor is just larger and bulkier.)
• Silky is a Mith that ended up being impressed by the clan's prowess, and tagged along with Carboden to visit the main clan. They were similarly curious of the strange place, and ended up attaching to him due to all the research he was doing! Though it was mostly accident, the two do end up matching quite well, and some dragons call Silky Rosedust's little double.
