Bagel

"Familiarity breeds contempt"

Bagel isn't really sure where everything went wrong. But she is pretty sure that is happen when her cousin Donut was hatched. Barely out of the egg herself her family packed up their lair in the Nature territory and moved to the Wasteland so that her mother could be with her sister. They wanted to raised their hatchlings in "a family full of love and joy" So began a life of companionship and sharing. Ugh

Growing up she like to explore the land around the lair and look for venomous snakes and big spiders to bring inside to scare the other clan members. Donut would toddle after her turning his stupid mismatched gaze trustingly to her and ask why they were moving the slimy things away from their homes? Mama doesn't like slimy things in the lair. Ugh. She was glad that he left. Thrilled even. Bagel would finally have the lair all to herself. Everyone would give her all the attention that she deserved.

But they didn't

Apparently there were other hatchlings to take care of, other dragons to welcome... always something other. Never her. Never. So she left. That would show them. See how they did without her! They probably wouldn't even last a day before they started begging her to return. But no they lost their chance! Other clans would appreciate her they would give her the attention that she deserved.

They did.

Which is to say that they gave her none.

The Wasteland is a rough land to live in and every dragon was expected to pull their own weight. No clan was interested in a dragon who had a love of poisonous slimy things unless they used those skilled to gather food. Bagel was better than menial labor. Surely she deserved better. So she wandered alone for a while. Every once in a while she would spend a few days in a clan before she started feeling underappreciated and left.
