Currently the youngest son of the founders, Deja's egg hatched above shore near the Tsunami Flats during one of Entendu's journeys. This unusual hatch seemed to have an ill effect on him, as he can't withstand the pressure of the deep, even with the help of water magics.

Because of his aversion to the deepsea, Deja became a permanent resident of the Laminaria forest, a large maze of kelp between the Fishspine Reef and the coastline. He joined the ranks of the Society of Sea Anemones, a group of denizens who tend the community garden for Clan Abyss.

Deja's fascination with plants began when he was a hatchling. He'd gone on a visit to the Heart of the Grotto, where he first leaned the language of flowers from Tierney.
